NCT ID: NCT03526029 Recruiting - Trauma Clinical Trials

Swiss Trauma Registry

Start date: January 1, 2015
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

The Swiss Conference of Cantonal Health Directors has transferred the planning of highly specialized medicine to a specialized body under the direction of the Swiss Academy of Sciences. This specialist body has defined the treatment of critically ill as part of highly specialized medicine and founded the Swiss Trauma Registry at 12 hospitals in Switzerland. The registry is designed to provide a consistent and standardized approach and treatment outcomes in the short and long term quality control and as a basis for planning highly specialized medicine.

NCT ID: NCT03380767 Withdrawn - Coagulopathy Clinical Trials

Use of Viscoelastic Tests in the Treatment of Traumatic Induced Coagulopathy: a Pragmatic Randomized Clinical Trial.

VISCOTRAUMA
Start date: December 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Trauma is the leading cause of death in young people. Trauma-induced coagulopathy (TIC) encompasses several aspects of traumatic bleeding. Monitoring of coagulopathy comprises use of Point-of-Care (POC) methods, such as thromboelastography (TEG) or Thromboelastometry (ROTEM) and conventional laboratory assays (platelet count, fibrinogen level, and PT or INR). POC tests are thought to have a better performance on mortality and bleeding control than conventional tests. The aim of this study is to compare POC and conventional assays with plasma consumption as a primary outcome and 28 days mortality as a secondary one.

NCT ID: NCT03115970 Not yet recruiting - Trauma, Multiple Clinical Trials

Feasibility of Lactate Level Evaluation in Prehospital Care in Trauma

Start date: May 1, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Capillary or venous lactate level evaluation in prehospital care could be simple and beneficial tool for optimising prehospital care in patients with severe trauma.

NCT ID: NCT02978950 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Venous Thromboembolism

SToP: Venous Thromboembolism Screening in the Trauma Population

SToP
Start date: March 20, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a prospective, randomized vanguard trial of trauma patients admitted to the trauma surgery service at Intermountain Medical Center who are deemed to be at high risk for venous thromboembolism. Once identified and enrolled, subjects will be randomized to receive bilateral lower extremity duplex ultrasound surveillance versus no surveillance. The study will compare the two groups with regard to deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, and major and clinically relevant bleeding episode rates, both during the index hospitalization and at 90 days post-discharge.

NCT ID: NCT02619539 Completed - Trauma, Multiple Clinical Trials

Shock Index To DEtect Low Plasma Fibrinogen In Trauma (SIDE)

SIDE
Start date: January 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Shock-index is potentially an easy tool to estimate the risk of hypofibrinogenemia without the need to perform other potentially time consuming investigations.

NCT ID: NCT00184470 Terminated - Trauma, Multiple Clinical Trials
