Filter by:The study aimed to investigate clinical effect of autogenous dentin graft on patients following mandibular wisdom tooth extraction. The primary outcomes are pain, swelling, trismus and soft tissue healing index within one week after surgery. The investigators also measured periodontal healing of distal aspect of the adjacent second molar up to 2 year after the surgery.
Aims: The purpose of this randomized clinical trial is to assess and compare the post operative pain, swelling and quality of life after endodontic microsurgery using either conventional osteotomy or piezoelectric osteotomy . The PICO question that will be used is Does endodontic microsurgery using piezoelectric osteotomy have similar clinical performance in terms of post operative pain and swelling to that of endodontic microsurgery using conventional hand-piece osteotomy. Material and methods: based on solid inclusion criteria , a total of 44 patients in need of endodontic microsurgery will be randomly distributed into two groups (n=22) according to the osteotomy technique: conventional and piezoelectric osteotomy. A standardized microsurgical technique will be employed. After the microsurgery procedure, a pain questionnaire that contain visual analogue scale will be given to each patient to evaluate the pain incidence and intensity at 5 time intervals, 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours, 96 hours and 120 hours. The patients will be recalled as well, at days 2 and 7 to evaluate the swelling. Statistical analysis will be performed using chi-square test and linear regression analysis.
A randomized clinical trial will be performed in parallel, placebo controlled, triple-blind to evaluate the effectiveness of the association Bromelina and Horse-chestnut (titrated in escin) (Noflogo®, Mavenpharma s.r.l., Rome, Italy) in the management of post trauma-surgery following surgery periodontal and implant surgery.
This is a prospective, randomized, double-blind study investigating whether intravenous tranexamic acid has any effect on rhytidectomy surgery, or the subsequent postoperative sequelae. Intraoperative bleeding and postoperative ecchymosis and edema are subjectively rated and complications are noted.
Fifty patients were randomly selected with oral and/or maxillofacial swelling, thorough case history and clinical examination were done, then ultrasound examinations were done for all of them and they were classified into five groups (I. inflammatory/space infection and abscess swellings), (II. cystic swellings), (III. lymph node swellings), (IV. benign swellings) and (V. malignant neoplastic swellings) according to their ultrasound features. The patients were subjected to histopathologic evaluation.
