This study will compare medically-supervised withdrawal (MSW, 'detoxification') to opioid agonist treatment (OAT, 'maintenance') with buprenorphine for pregnant women with opioid use disorder in terms of maternal, fetal, and neonatal outcomes. Outcomes will be assessed during pregnancy, at birth and for 12 months postpartum. This study has the potential to impact health service policy and practices in terms of the treatment options of pregnant women with opioid use disorder.

Patients who suffer from chronic myeloid leukemia are treated by tyrosin kinase inhibitors (TKI) saying imatinib, nilotinib, dasatinib, bosutinib and ponatinib. These drugs are highly efficient with excellent response allowing some patients to definitely stop their cancer treatment. However, in 30% of cases, when the treatment is stopped, pains could arise in shoulders, hips, joints… These symptoms occurring after the withdrawal of a drug are odd and biologically unexplained so far. This study seeks to discover the biological factors behind these symptoms called 'TKI withdrawal syndrome' by the scientific community.

The Effect of Self-Forgiveness on Self-Stigma in Addiction.

This study has an experimental design and will examine the difference in pre-test and post-test data on the Self-Forgiveness Dual Process Scale (SFDPS) (Griffin, Worthington, Davis, Hook, & Maguen, 2018) and the Substance Abuse Self-Stigma Scale (SASSS) (Luoma et al., 2013). Data will be collected from two groups of participants receiving counseling at the short-term rehabilitation facility located at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's (UPMC). Individuals who agree to participate in the study will be randomly assigned to either the experimental group (EG) or the control group (CG). Data collected will include pre-test SFDPS and SASSS scores for the EG and the CG (collected within 24-hours of admission), and post-test SFDPS and SASSS scores for the EG and CG (collected after 14 days). ANCOVA will be used to analyze the pre-test and post-test data recorded from participants' scores.

The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the impact of treating opioid use disorder (OUD) in pregnant women with extended-release buprenorphine (BUP-XR), compared to sublingual buprenorphine (BUP-SL), on mother and infant outcomes. The primary hypothesis is that the BUP-XR group will not have greater illicit opioid use than the BUP-SL group during pregnancy (non-inferiority).

The alcohol withdrawal syndrome has a hierarchical symptomatology depending on the severity (minor, moderate or severe). These signs express a state of psychic, behavioral and physical deprivation. The management of withdrawal syndrome involves the establishment of pharmacological and psychosocial interventions. Osteopathy is an exclusively manual practice whose purpose is to overcome the dysfunction of mobility of tissues of the human body. It can be used as a complementary treatment when a specific support is put in place. The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of osteopathy in reducing alcohol withdrawal symptoms in adult patients.

Medication Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder in Expectant Mothers: Infant Neurodevelopmental Outcomes Sub-study

This is a sub-study of NIDA CTN Protocol 0080: Medication Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder in Expectant Mothers (MOMs; Unique protocol ID: 2019-0429-1). Caretakers of the infants delivered by MOMs participants will be offered the opportunity to enroll in this sub-study, which is designed to evaluate the impact of extended-release buprenorphine (BUP-XR), relative to sublingual buprenorphine (BUP-SL), on infant neurodevelopment. The additional data collected in this sub-study will be combined with data from the main MOMs trial.
