Filter by:This pilot study will evaluate the feasibility and safety of using 1:1 tetrahydrocannabinol (THC):Cannabidiol (CBD) cannabis oil as an adjunct therapy to methadone-based Opioid Agonist Therapy (OAT) for individuals with opioid use disorder (OUD) in a community setting.
This study aims to identify the neural, behavioral, and pharmacological mechanisms promoting diminished expression of drug-related memories in human drug addiction. In this fMRI study with a within-subjects placebo-controlled double-blind cross-over design, oral methylphenidate (20 mg) or placebo will be administered to individuals with cocaine use disorders (CUD) to peak during the retrieval of a drug-cue memory before extinction; in addition to fMRI activations, skin conductance responses (SCR, acquired simultaneously) will serve as the psychophysiological indicators of memory modification. Assessments of interference with the return of drug-cue memories via SCR and craving will be conducted the day following MRI. This pharmocologically-enhanced behavioral approach to decreasing drug memories and craving in iCUD could ultimately be used to develop effective cue-exposure therapies for drug addiction. Procedures include MRI, blood draw, questionnaires and interviews, skin conductance response measures, and behavioral tasks.
The goal of this clinical trial is to study the relationship between substance cravings, cognitive performance, behaviors, and physiological markers in individuals with substance use disorder, as well as the effects of peer recovery intervention in response to abnormal biomarker data detected by wearable technology (e.g., Oura ring, smart watch) and participant responses to questionnaires and cognitive tasks completed on the RNI Health application.
The overall goal of this project is to collect initial human data on the effects of novel compounds on safety (interactions with an opioid drug, e.g., buprenorphine) and early efficacy signals (subjective effects on negative affect, craving, and opioid withdrawal) in OUD subjects currently in MOUD treatment with buprenorphine.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of a peer-led, brief, behavioral intervention to improve adherence to medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD) and reduce polysubstance use among patients with OUD and polysubstance use in an underserved, rural area. The intervention is based on behavioral activation (BA) and is specifically designed to be implemented by a trained peer recovery specialist. In this hybrid, Type-1 effectiveness-implementation randomized controlled trial (RCT), the investigators will evaluate the effectiveness and implementation of Peer Activate vs. treatment as usual (TAU) over twelve months.
Substance Use Disorders (SUD) are associated with cognitive schemas that lead to care attrition and mistrust towards care. Considering this, establishing a strong, trustful relationship between the patient and the healthcare team is important to promote patient engagement within SUD management. However, it requires an important availability of the healthcare team, allowing for frequent interactions at all times, including at night and during days off. We postulated that a mobile application called MAURISSE, which aims to help the caregivers maintaining a link with the patient in order to facilitate trust in the relationship, could foster patient engagement as well as the therapeutic alliance. This research aims to compare the effect of the application MAURISSE on the therapeutic alliance in a population of patients treated for a disorder related to substance use at the Toulouse University Hospital.
The goal of this clinical trial is to compare a standard adolescent-only approach to substance use screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment to a in primary care settings. Primary outcomes (AOD use, co-occurring behavior problems, parent-youth communication about AOD use) and secondary outcomes (adolescent quality of life, therapy attendance) are assessed at screen/initial and 3, 6, 9, and 12 months follow-up.
Based on the biological-psychology-sociological medicine pattern, this study aims to construction an early warning model of the New Psychoactive Substances (NPS) using for adolescents aged 14-35 years old. This study intends to obtain the data related to the behavioral expression of addiction susceptibility genes, adverse childhood experience, cognition, resistance and the use of NPS in adolescents by questionnaire survey (sample size: 200), and then use logistic regression and machine learning to construct an early warning model.
