NCT ID: NCT05404737 Completed - Cardiac Surgery Clinical Trials

Interchangeability of Right Ventricle Longitudinal Shortening in Echocardiography

RVLSBO
Start date: May 31, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

RV longitudinal shortening fraction (RV-SLF) is based on the analysis of the tricuspid annulus displacement (TAD) and can be performed in transthoracic (TTE) or transoesophageal echocardiography (TEE). Having an 2D-STE interchangeable parameter would allow accurate measurement of RV systolic function before, during and after cardiac surgery. However, to date, there are no data on the interchangeability of RV-LSF measurements performed in TTE and TEE. The aim of the study is to evaluate the interchangeability of TTE and TEE measurements of RV-LSF during cardiopulmonary bypass surgery.

NCT ID: NCT05207891 Completed - Pain Clinical Trials

Comparing Pressure Injury Occurrence in Patients Using Two Different Mattresses

Start date: September 14, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this project is to compare a newly developed automatic reversing dynamic air mattress, with a regular care mattress, which is in daily use at the hospital. Focus will be on pressure relief in relation to occurrence of pressure injury, user satisfaction, and the mattresses impact on sleep and pain. The participants will be randomized to start with the intervention mattress or the control mattress. Outcomes will be measured via validated forms regarding pressure related injuries, quality of life, pain, and mattress comfort. Custom made forms will be used regarding resource use and comfort in the nursing service, especially in relation to position changes in the participants .

NCT ID: NCT04908748 Completed - Clinical trials for Soft Tissue Injuries

Efficacy and Safety of Esflurbiprofen Hydrogel Patch in the Treatment of Local Acute Pain

Start date: May 20, 2021
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Objective of this study is: to determine efficacy and safety of a Esflurbiprofen Hydrogel Patch compared to placebo in patients with acute strains, sprains or bruises of the extremities following blunt trauma, e.g. sports injuries. to demonstrate that the Esflurbiprofen Hydrogel Patch is superior to placebo, and that the patch has acceptable local tolerability.

NCT ID: NCT03912168 Completed - Pain Clinical Trials

Question Prompt List for Orthopaedic Conditions

Start date: August 12, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to investigate whether providing patients with a question prompt list (QPL) prior to their orthopaedic surgery clinic appointment improves their perceived involvement in care (PICs) score compared to being given 3 questions from the AskShareKnow model

NCT ID: NCT02104258 Completed - Strains Clinical Trials

Rehabilitation of Acute Hamstring Injuries in Male Athletes

Start date: March 2014
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to compare the effect of two rehabilitation protocols with different emphasis on eccentric exercises after acute hamstring muscle strain injuries on the time to return to sports (RTS) and the rate of re-injuries in male athletes. The hypothesis is that the addition of early eccentric hamstring exercises being performed at longer muscle-tendon length towards end range of motion alter the outcomes RTS and re-injuries in a rehabilitation protocol after acute hamstring muscle strain injuries.
