PLATON (Platform for Analyzing Targetable Mutations) is a prospective, multicentre, observational cohort study with biobanking. In a first approach PLATON's pilot-study assesses genomic profiling in gastrointestinal cancer therapy and the frequencies of targetable mutations including Tumor Mutational Burden (TMB) and Microsatellite Instability Status (MSI), performing Next-generation deep sequencing (NGS) using the Foundation Medicine assays on tumor specimen and EDTA-whole blood samples. The Study Protocol does not define any further medical intervention or evaluate the efficacy or safety of the treatment decision made by the investigator. Another important objective of PLATON's pilot project is to evaluate whether and how many patients are treated based on their genomic profiles.

However, the outcome of non-curative ESDs is scarcely reported in the west (particularly among non-gastric or submucosal lesions). Therefore, the aim of this project is to describe the European experience with non-curative ESDs, analysing all the consecutive ESDs performed in several reference centers, assessing the presence of residual lesion in the endoscopic follow-up or in the surgical specimen.

Oxaliplatin Combined With S-1(SOX) Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy for Different Cycles in Patients With Gastric Cancer

RESONANCE-II trial is a prospective, multicenter, randomized, controlled phase III study which will enroll 524 patients in total. Patients with eligibility will be registered, pre-enrolled and receive three cycles of SOX. Then, tumor response evaluation will be carried out. Those who achieve stable disease or progressive disease will be excluded. Patients achieving complete response or partial response will be enrolled and assigned into either group A for another three cycles of SOX (six cycles in total) followed by D2 surgery and group B for D2 surgery (three cycles in total). The primary endpoint is the rate of pathological complete response and the secondary endpoints are R0 resection rate, three-year disease-free survival, five-year overall survival and safety.

By using the M.A.D.I.T. methodology and the Dialogics science, SALVO Project aims to develop operational guidelines to support oncological target patients in the resumption of their daily post-operative activities. The research will implement an instrument for the purpose of measuring the health need of participants who are admitted to the surgical ward. Therefore, targeted interventions will be implemented with participants, and efficacy will be evaluated in order to define treatment guidelines. The principal aim of this study is to create a validated and replicable intervention model for supporting patients who undergone surgery for esophageal and gastro intestinal cancer.
