NCT ID: NCT04189770 Recruiting - Cancer Survivor Clinical Trials

Lifestyle Behavior Influences Among African American Patients With Stage 0-III Prostate Cancer Survivors and Their Partners

Start date: February 26, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This trial studies the day-to-day stress, social support, and health lifestyle behaviors (such as physical activity and nutrition) in African American patients with stage 0-III prostate cancer survivors and their partners. How patients cope with stress may affect their lifestyle behaviors. This study may help understand not only survivors' behaviors but also partners' behaviors and how they interact.

NCT ID: NCT04134260 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Prostate Adenocarcinoma

Testing the Addition of the Drug Apalutamide to the Usual Hormone Therapy and Radiation Therapy After Surgery for Prostate Cancer

Start date: March 5, 2020
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This phase III trial studies whether adding apalutamide to the usual treatment improves outcome in patients with lymph node positive prostate cancer after surgery. Radiation therapy uses high energy x-ray to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. Androgens, or male sex hormones, can cause the growth of prostate cancer cells. Drugs, such as apalutamide, may help stop or reduce the growth of prostate cancer cell growth by blocking the attachment of androgen to its receptors on cancer cells, a mechanism similar to stopping the entrance of a key into its lock. Adding apalutamide to the usual hormone therapy and radiation therapy after surgery may stabilize prostate cancer and prevent it from spreading and extend time without disease spreading compared to the usual approach.

NCT ID: NCT03987386 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Stage IVA Prostate Cancer AJCC v8

Conventional or Hypofractionated Radiation Therapy in Treating Patients With Prostate Cancer

Start date: May 30, 2019
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This phase III trial studies how well hypofractionated radiation therapy works compared to the conventional one in treating patients with prostate cancer. Radiation therapy uses high energy beams to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. Hypofractionated radiation therapy delivers higher doses of radiation therapy over a shorter period of time and may kill more tumor cells and have fewer side effects.

NCT ID: NCT03899987 Suspended - Clinical trials for Prostate Adenocarcinoma

Aspirin and Rintatolimod With or Without Interferon-alpha 2b in Treating Patients With Prostate Cancer Before Surgery

Start date: November 29, 2019
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This phase II trial studies how well aspirin and rintatolimod with or without interferon-alpha 2b work in treating patients with prostate cancer before surgery. Aspirin may help to keep the prostate cancer from coming back. Rintatolimod may stimulate the immune system and interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Interferon-alpha 2b may improve the body's natural response to infections and may slow tumor growth. It is not yet known how well rintatolimod, aspirin, and interferon-alpha 2b work in treating patients with prostate cancer undergoing surgery.

NCT ID: NCT03630354 Completed - Breast Carcinoma Clinical Trials

EXERCISING TOGETHER for Couples Coping With Cancer

Start date: January 18, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The Exercising Together trial is a single-blind, parallel group, randomized controlled trial comparing 3 arms: Arm 1 (experimental): Exercising Together where couples perform partnered exercise in a supervised, group setting versus two comparator conditions where survivors and partners perform exercise routines separately in either a supervised group setting (Arm 2) or unsupervised at home (Arm 3). All three arms will train for a 6-month period and then be followed 6 months later. Data will be collected at baseline, 3, 6 and 12 months.

NCT ID: NCT03575832 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Stage III Prostate Cancer AJCC v8

Watchful Living in Improving Quality of Life in Participants With Localized Prostate Cancer on Active Surveillance and Their Partners

Start date: January 25, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This pilot trial studies how well Watchful Living works in improving quality of life in participants with prostate cancer that has not spread to other parts of the body who are on active surveillance and their partners. A social support lifestyle intervention (called Watchful Living) may help African American prostate cancer participants and their partners improve their quality of life, physical activity, diet, and inflammation.

NCT ID: NCT03570476 Terminated - Clinical trials for Stage II Prostate Cancer AJCC v8

Olaparib Before Surgery in Treating Participants With Localized Prostate Cancer

Start date: September 11, 2018
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This phase II trial studies how well olaparib works in treating participants with prostate cancer that has not spread to other parts of the body (localized). Olaparib may stop the growth of tumor cells by interfering with the activity of a substance called PARP, which is inside cells. Giving olaparib before surgery may make the tumor smaller and reduce the amount of normal tissue that needs to be removed.

NCT ID: NCT02600156 Recruiting - Prostate Cancer Clinical Trials

Focal Laser Ablation of Low to Intermediate Prostate Cancer Tumors

Start date: September 1, 2015
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The primary purpose of this study is to evaluate the feasibility and safety of MRI-guided focal laser ablation (Laser-Induced Interstitial Thermal Therapy, LITT) to treat low-risk native prostate cancer.
