The purpose of this randomized controlled trial is to assess and compare radiographic and clinical outcomes in patients who are to undergo combined interbody/posterolateral lumbar fusion procedures, supplemented with pedicle screw instrumentation, using one of the following interbody cages; the Medtronic Adaptix™ cage with roughened micro and nano-textured titanium surfaces or the CAPSTONE® poly-ether-ether-ketone cage.
In recent years there has been an increase in interest from surgeons in the use of synthetic bone graft substitutes to avoid the need of sourcing allograft or iliac crest autograft for use in spinal fusion procedures. This will be an open label, prospective, first in man, single-centre clinical study to evaluate the safety and performance of Osteo3 ZP Putty synthetic bone graft in TLIF procedures with instrumented PLF. Safety and performance data obtained in this clinical study will be used to estimate clinical success rates achieved with the use of Osteo3 ZP Putty synthetic bone graft in TLIF procedures. No comparative control group is intended. The study is expected to run for approximately three years with each subject being followed up for a two- year post-operative period. The target is to recruit approximately 17 subjects to this clinical study, allowing for some subject attrition to get 15 evaluable.
Creation of a pediatric robotic spine surgery registry will allow for data collection and analysis on the coupled use of robotics and navigation in pediatric spine deformity surgery across participating study institutions. Eventually, an educational and informative framework for this technology will be established.
Opioid overuse is a widespread public health crisis in the United States with increasing rates of addiction and overdose deaths from prescription opioids. Reducing the need for opiate analgesics in the post-operative setting has become a high priority in minimizing long-term opioid use in surgical patients. This study will serve to demonstrate the efficacy of the addition of regional analgesic techniques in reducing post-operative opioid requirements in patients undergoing common lumbar spinal surgical procedures.

Investigators hypothesized that spinopelvic parameters might be related to the clinical symptoms of IS patients. Therefore, the purpose of the present study was to investigate whether differences in spinopelvic parameters, especially spinopelvic alignment, may be associated with the clinical symptoms of low-grade IS patients.

Spondylolisthesis is a serious health condition that is often treated with surgery or pain-relieving lumbar epidural steroids. Patients with persistent and debilitating symptoms who have failed to respond to conservative treatment should consider surgery. Objectives: The aim of this study was to compare the therapeutic efficacy of three ultrasound guided PRP injections of the facet joint capsule to surgical procedures in patients with degenerative spondylolisthesis G1 and their effect on neurogenic pain relief and functional improvement over a one-year follow-up period. Methods: A one-year prospective randomised comparative clinical trial was performed on 60 patients with degenerative spondylolisthesis G1 who were randomly assigned to one of two groups: Group 1: thirty patients were injected in the facet joint capsule with a series of three ultrasound-guided PRP injections at four-week intervals, and Group 2: thirty patients underwent surgery. They were exposed to clinical neuropsychological testing.They were assessed for pain and function using clinical neurological assessments, VAS (Visual Analogue Scale), FRI (Functional Rating Index), Roland Morris, and ODI.
