Filter by:Small vessel disease (SVD) accounts for 25% of strokes and is the second most common cause of dementia after Alzheimer's disease. Unlike other causes of stroke, SVD manifests itself years before the stroke by the accumulation of tissue damage. Although heterogeneous, these lesions appear on Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) as white matter hypersignals (WMH). In this context, the ANR SUMMIT project will characterize these lesions in vivo to develop new markers in the early stages of stroke. It is subdivided into 4 work packages, the third one being promoted by CHRU de Tours.
In adult patients presenting to emergency departments within 24 hours of symptom onset with suspected acute stroke, we aim: 1. to identify early brain- and pathology-specific circulating, whole blood, plasma and serum panorOmic biomarkers that enable early acute stroke detection, diagnosis, dynamics, differentiation, monitoring, prediction and prognosis. 2. to identify early brain- and pathology-specific, panorOmic biomarkers in saliva that enable early acute stroke detection, diagnosis, dynamics, differentiation, monitoring, prediction and prognosis. 3. to derive biomarker platforms of models for early acute stroke detection, diagnosis, dynamics, differentiation, monitoring, prediction and prognosis 4. to validate these models in independent and external datasets
The purpose is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of paclitaxel-releasing coronary balloon (Catheter SeQuent® Please) versus rapid exchange PTCA balloon catheter (SeQuent® Neo) in the treatment of stenoses of coronary small vessels. 270 subjects will be enrolled for the trials.
