Treating ALBP With Acupuncture - Comparison of the Efficacy Between Distal Points and Local Points

Treating Acute Low Back Pain With Acupuncture - Comparison of the Efficacy Between Distal Points and Local Points

This study is a randomized controlled trial on acupuncture for Acute Low Back Pain(ALBP). According to literature, using distal acupoints only to treat ALBP is mostly recognized, but in our daily clinical practice, it is common to use local acupoints mainly combined with distal acupoints. Which method leads to better effect is one important clinical question in treating Low Back Pain(LBP) by acupuncture. In this proposed study, the investigators aim to compare the efficacy of using "distal acupoints only" and "local acupoints mainly combined with distal acupoints" on ALBP.

Effect of Acupuncture on Visual Acuity and Visual Field in Patients With Primary Open-angle Glaucoma

Effect of Acupuncture on Visual Acuity and Visual Field in Patients With Primary Open-angle Glaucoma

The goal of this clinical trial is to test the therapeutic effect of acupuncture at the Jingming and the Qiuhou acupoints on the visual acuity and visual field in patients with primary open-angle glaucoma. Participants will get acupuncture or Wangbuliu Xingzi Paste (sham acupuncture) on both sides of the Jingming and the Qiuhou, once a week, once for 20 minutes, for 24 weeks. Researchers will compare acupuncture group and sham acupuncture group to see if the visual acuity, visual field, intraocular pressure, optic nerve fiber layer thickness, serum homocysteine concentration, and scores on the WHOQOL-REF (Taiwan version) scale would be improved.

Efficacy of Acupuncture in Patients With Lower Extremity Amputation With Neuroma

Efficacy of Acupuncture in Patients With Lower Extremity Amputation With Neuroma: A Prospective Randomized Controlled Study

Neuroma often occurs after major nerve damage or transection and can be diagnosed with pain at the tip of the stump, positive tinel, imaging (USG/MR). Various treatment methods are used for neuropathic pain, including pharmacological agents, intralesional steroid and local anesthetic injection, alcohol, phenol, radiofrequency or cryotherapy, ablation and surgical applications. Exercise (ROM and relaxation), TENS, biofeedback, hypnosis, acupuncture, psychotherapy, mirror therapy can be used in the treatment of neuropathic pain in amputees. In this study, the investigators aimed to examine the effectiveness of acupuncture on pain, neuroma size and functional status in individuals with lower extremity amputation with neuroma.
