Effectiveness of Manual Acupuncture and Standard Therapy Compared to Standard Therapy in Gynecological Cancer Pain

Effectiveness of Manual Acupuncture and Standard Therapy Compared to Standard Therapy in Gynecological Cancer Pain

Cancer patients experience cancer pain as much as 66%. Cancer pain is pain that occurs in patients with neoplastic/malignancy and the source of the pain can come from malignant processes, treatments such as radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and surgery as well as other causes that are not related to malignancy processes. Unresolved pain can reduce the quality and life expectancy of cancer pain patients. The prevalence of cancer itself in Indonesia, the case of cervical cancer itself ranks second after breast cancer. In recent decades, acupuncture analgesics have been widely used to relieve cancer pain, and can also reduce the dose and side effects of analgesics. However, substantially the use of acupuncture in cancer pain is still very rare.

Tapping in Together: A Pilot Study on Group Acupuncture for Ketamine Experience Integration

Tapping in Together: A Pilot Study on Group Acupuncture for Ketamine Experience Integration

The goal of this pilot trial is to learn about using acupuncture for ketamine experience integration in adults aged 21-65 who are medically cleared for a ketamine prescription. The aim is to inform future controlled trials investigating efficacy by evaluating the success of: - recruitment - retention - assessment procedures - implementation of group acupuncture interventions performed just after a ketamine experience Participants will be given acupuncture in a group setting after a small-group ketamine experience. The following day, participants will be asked to complete a few brief surveys about their experience.

Effects of Acupuncture on Perceived Stress and Health in Military Service Members

Effects of Acupuncture on Perceived Stress and Health in Military Service Members and Veterans

The goal of this is to investigate the effect of a Manual Standardized Stress Acupuncture (MSSA) protocol as an adjunct treatment to a short-term mindfulness therapy for perceived stress and general health in service members (i.e., active duty military personnel and veterans). The specific aims of this study are Aim 1) To evaluate the effectiveness of a brief MSSA as an adjunct treatment with a short-term Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) compared with MBSR alone for perceived stress and general health in service members. Aim 2) To describe any perceived benefits of MSSA as an adjunct treatment with MBSR compared with MBSR alone for perceived stress and general health. Participants will be asked to complete an informed consent if eligible for the study and randomized into two groups: 1) Participants in the experimental group will receive MSSA in addition to MBSR. 2) Participants in the control group will receive MBSR only. Researchers will compare experimental and control groups to see if the interventions mitigated perceived stress and improved the health of the participants.

The Effectiveness of Laser Acupuncture and Standard Medication Therapy on Mandibular Post-Odontectomy Patients

The Effectiveness Combination of Laser Acupuncture and Standard Medication on Pain Score, Interincisal Distance and Swelling in Mandibular Third Molar Post-Odontectomy Patients

Acute toothache is a problem that often occurs in the oral cavity. Toothache can be caused by an impacted tooth, in which the tooth cannot or will not erupt into its normal position. The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMFS) states that 9 out of 10 people have at least one impacted tooth, and impacted mandibular third molars have the greatest prevalence. Laser acupuncture is an acupuncture modality that has the benefit of reducing pain after third molar extraction. The goal of this randomized controlled trial is to evaluate the group that received a combination of laser acupuncture and standard medication compared to the group that received the combination of sham laser acupuncture and standard medication alone, in management of post-mandibular odontectomy patients. The main objective of this study is to analyze the combination of laser acupuncture and medication significantly improving the patient's pain intensity, interincisal distance and post-odontectomy swelling compared to the combination group of sham laser acupuncture and medication.
