The study will evaluate risk factors and co-variants, including genetic variants that are associated with disease progression such as pain, inflammation, organ dysfunction, disability and quality of life.

Few data are available regarding the prevalence and severity of these comorbidities in elderly RA patients. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of age on prevalence and severity of comorbidities in RA.
Study X052070 will evaluate the safety and pharmacokinetics (PK) of XOMA 052 administered to patients with active, stable, moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis (RA). It is hypothesized that administration of XOMA 052 is likely to improve inflammatory control in subjects with RA.
