NCT ID: NCT05153174 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Kidney Disease stage4

Study of Sulphoraphane in Chronic Kidney Disease

Start date: May 2, 2022
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to test the safety of the compound sulforaphane that boosts the activity of antioxidant genes in the body to combat oxidative stress. Oxidative stress has been shown experimentally to play a role in kidney disease. This drug has been tested in patients with breast cancer who have normal kidney function, but has never been tested in patients with kidney disease. In this study, the investigators will establish a safe dose for patients with chronic kidney disease based on blood levels achieved in patients with normal kidney function.

NCT ID: NCT05150444 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Kidney Diseases

Effects of Intradialytic Cognitive and Physical Exercise Training on Functional Status of Hemodialysis Patients

DIAKOG
Start date: November 2, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of cognitive training combined with physical exercise on cognitive function, physical performance and frailty indicators in the hemodialysis population.

NCT ID: NCT05119816 Completed - Kidney Diseases Clinical Trials

Music Therapy Intervention During Kidney Biopsy.

MTI-KB
Start date: June 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Kidney biopsy (KB) is an invasive procedure that is very useful in diagnosing kidney disease in both the native kidney and the transplanted kidney. Patients undergo KB can feel anxiety and pain. Pain is considered one of the worst experiences for patients and anxiety affects the sympathetic nervous system, the endocrine system and the immune system. The aim of this preliminary study was to evaluate the influence of MTI as a complementary/nonpharmacological intervention on heart rate variability, anxiety and pain and promote more compliant behaviours during KB.

NCT ID: NCT05081648 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Kidney Diseases

Must Cannulation Technique of Vascular Access in Patients Undergoing Haemodialysis: Contributions for a Safe Nursing Intervention

MuST
Start date: January 3, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aims of this study are to: - Determine the AVF (arteriovenous fistula) survival of patients submitted to MuST compared to those submitted to RL (rope-ladder). - Determine the AVF (arteriovenous fistula) complication rate of patients submitted to MuST compared to those submitted to RL (rope-ladder). - Analyze the intensity of pain perceived by the patient with each cannulation technique under study.

NCT ID: NCT05075408 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Kidney Disease Associated Moderate to Severe Pruritus

To Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of Nemolizumab for 12 Weeks in Participants With Chronic Kidney Disease With Associated Moderate to Severe Pruritus

NemoCKDaP
Start date: December 29, 2021
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of nemolizumab compared to placebo at reducing the intensity of pruritus after a 12-week treatment period in adult hemodialysis participants with moderate to severe pruritus.

NCT ID: NCT05072574 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Kidney Diseases

Quality of Life, Nutritional Status and Functional Capacity in People With Advanced Chronic Kidney Disease

ERCANUT
Start date: April 23, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study evaluates the clinical response (quality of life, nutritional status, functional capacity, and disease knowledge) of advanced CKD patients who undergo an individualized dietary intervention and a nutritional education program (group workshops) using motivation coaching techniques, compared to controls who receive general hygiene-nutritional education at every visit.

NCT ID: NCT05064267 Completed - Clinical trials for Renal Insufficiency, Chronic

Hemostatic Profiles in Pediatric CKD

Start date: November 15, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This cross-sectional pilot study will examine the blood clotting patterns in children with chronic kidney disease stages 3, 4, and 5. A total of 30 participants will be enrolled with 10 participants for each stage of chronic kidney disease. Blood specimens will be collected from each participant during a routine clinic visit, and will then be processed to evaluate blood clotting characteristics according to thrombelastography and more conventional clotting tests.

NCT ID: NCT05056584 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Kidney Diseases

The Role of the Kidneys and Liver in the Elimination of Glucagon

MCR_EndCir
Start date: August 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The study aims to evaluate the kinetics and effect of glucagon in patients with chronic kidney disease and liver cirrhosis and matched healthy subjects, respectively.
