Pharmacokinetic Assessment of Ceftazidime in Intermittent Hemodialysis Patients

Start date: January 2012
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Ceftazidime is a broad spectrum cephalosporin with high activity against a variety of Gram-negative pathogens, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa. An open-label study of intravenous ceftazidime pharmacokinetics will be performed in patients undergoing intermittent hemodialysis at Northwestern Memorial Hospital to determine the clearance of ceftazidime in high flux hemodialysis.

NCT ID: NCT01476995 Completed - Hypertension Clinical Trials

Prognostic Indicators as Provided by the EPIC ClearView

GBMC
Start date: September 2010
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The objective of this study is to determine whether the finger tip images captured by the EPIC ClearView device, when analyzed via the ClearView software, produce a Response Scale that characterizes trends consistent with known diagnoses identified by medical doctors. Specifically, the investigators hypothesize that the organ system involving any of a series of known active diagnoses will be identified in the EPIC ClearView Response Scale report with the intention of providing potential triage capabilities.

NCT ID: NCT01468051 Completed - Renal Failure Clinical Trials

Two Schedules of Hepatitis B Vaccination in Predialysis Chronic Renal Failure Patients

Start date: October 2008
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Patients with chronic renal disease have to be vaccinated as soon as dialysis is forestalled and this could improve seroconversion rate of hepatitis B vaccination. In this study, the investigators aimed to compare seroconversion rates and immune response rates using four doses of 40 μg and three doses of 20 μg of Euvax B recombinant hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) vaccine given to predialysis CKD patients.

NCT ID: NCT01467180 Completed - Renal Failure Clinical Trials

Myoglobin Removal by High Cut-off CVVHD

HicoRhabdo
Start date: November 2011
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

A high cut-off dialyzer (septeX) is tested for the removal of myoglobin which is not efficiently removed by standard high flux dialysis membranes. Hypothesis: The high cut-off dialyzer (septeX) can remove 2-fold more efficiently myoglobin from the circulation of Rhabdomyolysis patients as by conventional treatment with standard high flux dialyzer.

NCT ID: NCT01454193 Completed - Renal Failure Clinical Trials

Are we Loading Our Patients With Sodium During Hemodialysis Treatments?

Start date: January 2001
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The objectives of the data search is to find out if there is correlation between pre, post serum sodium concentration, dialysate sodium concentration, interdialytic weight gain and associated changes in pre and post systolic and diastolic blood pressure, mean arterial pressure, number of blood pressure medications and adherence to 3 times per week dialysis, mortality.

NCT ID: NCT01453816 Withdrawn - Renal Failure Clinical Trials

Study to Assess the Safety and Effects of Autologous Adipose-Derived Stromal Cells Delivered in Patients With Renal Failure

Start date: May 2011
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The intent of this clinical study is to answer the questions: 1. Is the proposed treatment safe 2. Is treatment effective in improving the disease pathology of patients with Renal Failure and clinical outcomes

NCT ID: NCT01440881 Completed - Renal Failure Clinical Trials

Does Nesiritide Provide Renal Protection

Start date: April 2010
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This project evaluates whether nesiritide, human recombinant brain natriuretic peptide, confers renal protection during cardiovascular surgery by attenuating the inflammatory response.

NCT ID: NCT01438710 Completed - Renal Failure Clinical Trials

Switching Study of Kidney Transplant Patients With Tremor to LCP-Tacro (STRATO)

STRATO
Start date: December 2011
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study will evaluate and measure symptomatic hand tremor in stable kidney transplant subjects on Prograf or generic tacrolimus maintenance therapy at baseline (pre-conversion) and following conversion to LCP-Tacro. This study will also evaluate the safety of LCP-Tacro compared with Prograf or generic tacrolimus

NCT ID: NCT01437761 Terminated - Renal Failure Clinical Trials

Sorbent Treatment Prescriptions Pilot Study

Sorb2
Start date: August 2011
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

This study will compare how well blood of renal failure patients is cleaned with the new 2008 Sorbent System using two different dialysate speeds.

NCT ID: NCT01423955 Completed - Renal Failure Clinical Trials

Erythropoietin (EPO) to Protect Renal Function After Cardiac Surgery

EPRICS
Start date: October 2011
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the potential of erythropoietin in reducing risk and degree of acute kidney injury after cardiac surgery.
