NCT ID: NCT05976165 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Gastroesophageal Reflux

A Study of Breath Testing for Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth

Start date: November 17, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Researchers hope to determine how often small intestinal bacterial overgrowth occurs after taking proton pump inhibitors.

NCT ID: NCT02238691 Completed - Regurgitation Clinical Trials

Risk of Gastric Insufflation Related to Facemask Ventilation Technique During Anaesthetic Induction, With or Without PEEP

Start date: February 2015
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Continuous positive pressure during anesthetic induction is today not routinely used partly a to the risk of gastric insufflation because of higher ventilatory pressures. However there are conflicting data with improvement of GERD symptoms in CPAP treated OSA patients. The investigators aim to compare the risk of gastric insufflation regarding mask ventilation technique, with or without positive end expiratory pressure. For measurements a High Resolution Impedance Manometry Catheter is used.

NCT ID: NCT01858584 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Gastroesophageal Reflux

Prospective, Comparative, Randomized, Controlled Trial on the Efficacy of the Treatment of Gastroesophageal Reflux Infant With Magnesium Alginate

Start date: February 2013
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The results on the efficacy of the formulations based on alginic acid are controversial. Corvaglia et al demonstrated a significant reduction in reflux episodes in preterm infants by evaluation with pH-impedance analysis. This study concludes that the use of alginic acid reduces the acidity of the gastroesophageal reflux (GER) and has a non-systemic effect and a lesser presence of side effects compared to the use of H2-receptor antagonist(H2RA) and proton pump inhibitor (PPI).

NCT ID: NCT01199679 Terminated - Clinical trials for Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease

Rubber Band Ligation and Mucosectomy for Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)

GERD
Start date: June 2011
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine the safety and effectiveness of two separate procedures to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) also known as heartburn. The two therapies are: 1) a banding procedure alone using the Cook® 6 Shooterâ„¢ Saeed Multi-Band Ligator or 2) a banding/shaving procedure called Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR) using the Cook® Duetteâ„¢ Multi-Band Mucosectomy device.

NCT ID: NCT01005251 Completed - Clinical trials for Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease

Investigate the Effect of Different Doses of Lesogaberan (AZD3355) as add-on to PPI in GERD Patients With Partial Response to PPI

Start date: October 2009
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study is being carried out to see whether AZD3355 is an effective treatment as an add-on to PPI therapy in patients with Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) with a partial response to PPI and to compare this with Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI) treatment alone. Another goal of the study is to examine which of the investigated doses of AZD3355 is optimal for treatment of these patients. This study will also measure levels of drug in the blood and see how well it is tolerated.

NCT ID: NCT00842387 Completed - Heartburn Clinical Trials

Evaluation Study of a Management Strategy for Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)

Start date: January 2009
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The aim of this project is to compare the GERD clinical outcomes in patients where a structured pathway using the GerdQ questionnaire is implemented compared with the clinical outcomes of those treated without this implementation. This is a European project with 5 participating countries (Austria, Italy, Norway, Spain and Sweden). Due to different characteristics regarding the actual management of this disease in the 5 countries, each country had the flexibility to introduce design differences and changes in the study protocol.

NCT ID: NCT00703534 Completed - GERD Clinical Trials

Validation of Patient-reported Outcomes Measures for the Assessment of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) Symptoms

C27
Start date: May 2008
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This research study is being done to gather information about how to do further clinical studies using AZD3355 as an add-on treatment to proton pump inhibitors (PPI).
