View clinical trials related to Primary Hypertension.
Filter by:The primary aim of the present study was to examine the haemodynamic changes in primary hypertension and secondary hypertension (renal diseases, endocrine diseases, obesity-associated hypertension) with a non-invasive haemodynamic measurement protocol utilizing radial pulse wave analysis and whole-body impedance cardiography in both supine position and during head-up tilt. For comparison, haemodynamics of subjects with chronic fatigue syndrome will also be recorded.
One of the most common adverse effects resulting from the therapy with thiazides, thiazide-like diuretics and loop diuretics is increased potassium secretion. Disregulation of plasma potassium may be a life-threatening condition due to increased risk of arrythmias. Moreover, it has been postulated that decrease in plasma potassium level may negatively affect glucose metabolism resulting in the increased risk of new-onset type 2 diabetes. The main goal of this study is to assess the efficacy and safety of telmisartan/hydrochlorothiazide in a broad population of hypertensive patients, including the effects of the therapy on plasma potassium level and also on selected parameters of glucose and lipid metabolism.
This study is to assess the efficacy of the fixed combination of Valsartan and Amlodipine in hypertensive patients uncontrolled by monotherapy.
The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the safety and efficacy of inhaled Iloprost (Ventavis®) among adult Chinese patients with primary pulmonary hypertension, which is in compliance with Chinese SFDA regulation.
The Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone-system is important in the development of cardiovascular organ damage caused by arterial hypertension. This study aims at evaluating the importance of aldosterone with regard to hypertension induced damage to the heart. In order to do this the investigators will perform a comparative cross-sectional study in hypertensives and normotensives. In addition as interventional part the hypertensives will be treated with a mineralocorticoid-receptor blocker (spironolactone).
This is a randomised, open-label; parallel group, multicentric study comparing the efficacy and safety of fixed-dose-combinations of Metoprolol XL plus Amlodipine with individual components of the combination. SelomaxTM50/5 will also be compared with SelomaxTM 25/2.5 in lowering of BP (SBP and DBP) in Indian patients with essential hypertension.Male and female patients of essential hypertension aged between 18-80 years will be studied. The patients should not have a history of prior cardiovascular disease.
The purpose of this trial is to confirm that enalapril maleate and folic acid tablets is more effective in preventing stroke among the patients with primary hypertension when compared to enalapril maleate.
The purpose of this study is to observe treatment with candesartan cilexetil 16mg for 8 weeks, in uncontrolled hypertensive patients, in improvement of achieving of treatment goals and impact on blood pressure level in patients with uncontrolled hypertension treated with candesartan cilexetil.
High blood pressure is an important risk factor for diseases of heart and blood vessels like myocardial infarction and stroke. Many patients are not treated to target blood pressures, even though good blood pressure lowering drugs are available. Not all blood pressure drugs are equally effective in individual patients. We hypothesize that individual patient characteristics can predict the best response on different blood pressure lowering drugs. In this study we will investigate whether a set of patient characteristics (anthropometric and laboratory) obtained before treatment may predict the blood pressure lowering response to representatives of two groups of drugs: those that inhibit renin-angiotensin system activity and those that decrease blood volume.
