Filter by:Multi-country, non-interventional cohort study.The objective of the study is to characterise the risk of pregnancy and offspring (neonatal and infant) outcomes in pregnancies with and without exposure to EVUSHELD (used as a treatment or prophylaxis) among women of child-bearing indicated for such treatment in the real-world setting, using secondary data from US, France and Canada.
There is a need for studies with a high level of evidence regarding the effect of supportive care given during the preconceptional period, pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum processes. With this planned study, it is aimed to evaluate the effect of continuous midwife support during pregnancy, birth and postpartum periods, starting from the preconceptional period, on various parameters related to pregnancy, birth and postpartum period. The research is planned as a randomized controlled experimental study. It consists of two groups, the study group and the control group. 75 women out of 150 women will form the control group and 75 women will form the study group. The women in the working group will be given individual training in line with their needs. Data will be collected by using the checklist and many scales used by the control and study groups in preconceptional counseling recommended by ACOG (American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists).
Pregnancy is a critical period for cardiovascular health risk assessment and interventions to reduce the incidence of cardiovascular disease in both mother and child generations. Recently, the American Heart Association proposed the latest cardiovascular health assessment indicator "Life's Essential 8". However, there is still a lack of application data for pregnant women. This project intends to explore the application potential of Life's Essential 8 in cardiovascular health assessment of pregnant women and establish appropriate gestaional cardiovascular health standards.
The goal of this randomized clinical trial is to evaluate the telemedicine practices for contraceptive counseling given to pregnant women during the COVID-19 pandemic. The main questions it aims to answer are: - Does family planning counseling given to pregnant women by using telemedicine practices have an effect on the knowledge level about family planning? - Is family planning counseling given to pregnant women by using telemedicine practices effective on satisfaction with family planning services? Participants have attended to contraceptive counseling video call sessions provided via WhatsApp application and they have the opportunity to see the consultant and her materials during these sessions. After these sessions (two weeks later), contraceptive counseling video call session has been repeated, and at the end of this second session, women have been asked to answer the questions in the "Family Planning Knowledge Level Form" and the "Family Planning Services Satisfaction Scale". There is a comparison group (a control group) in this study, and no intervention was made to the women in the control group other than the routine services given in primary care settings. Researchers will compare the experimental group with control group to see if the telemedicine practices are effective in increasing the knowledge level of pregnant women about family planning and in the satisfaction of family planning services provided by primary health care settings.
The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic still represents a global health, social and economic emergency. In Italy, since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 4,709,753 cases and 131,461 deaths have been recorded. The vaccination campaign against COVID-19, launched on 27 December 2020, has made it possible in Italy to achieve complete vaccination coverage (two doses) of 80.6% of the population aged > 12 years. The latest data on the impact of vaccination in preventing new infections, hospitalizations and deaths report a strong reduction in the risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection in fully vaccinated people compared to unvaccinated people (78% for diagnosis, 92% for hospitalization, 95% for ICU admissions and 94% for deaths); most of the cases notified in the last 30 days in Italy have been diagnosed in unvaccinated people2. Evidence on the immunogenicity and safety of anti-SARS-CoV-2 vaccination in pregnant women, although not deriving from clinical trials, is growing, even if not yet conclusive. On the efficacy of mRNA vaccines in pregnancy, a retrospective Israeli cohort study reported a significantly lower risk of contracting SARS-CoV-2 infection compared to unvaccinated women. Furthermore, a greater maternal and perinatal morbidity from COVID-19, also associated with the circulation of the Delta variant, has been highlighted by the recent analyzes of the English data, updated to 11 July 2021. The Istituto Superiore di Sanità, in the light of the growing evidence on the safety of vaccination during pregnancy for both the fetus and the mother, the new evidence relating to the greater morbidity associated with the Delta variant, the growing circulation of the same variant and the significant lowering of median age at infection in Italy, recommends extending the vaccine offer, with mRNA vaccines, to all pregnant women in the second and third trimester. Objectives of the study: Evaluate the quality in terms of reception of the anti-COVID-19 vaccine offer, the knowledge and attitudes towards the aforementioned vaccination by pregnant women who join the Vaccination Open Day and who access the FPG Covid Vaccination Center for this vaccination. Primary endpoint: Measuring acceptance of the anti-COVID-19 vaccine offer and knowledge about vaccination, by means of a questionnaire to be administered after vaccination.
There are studies in the literature showing that there is a decrease in the number of pregnant women diagnosed with gestational diabetes and improvements in parameters related to maternal and infant health, with the education to be given to pregnant women at risk of gestational diabetes on preventive lifestyle practices such as healthy nutrition, physical exercise, and coping with stress. The aim of this study; For pregnant women at risk of gestational diabetes; education on preventive health behaviors; It is to determine the level of knowledge about GDM, risk perception and its effect on healthy living behaviors.
Gestational weight gain (GWG) has been closely related to health outcomes, particularly in gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Pregnant women may be particularly motivated to make healthy lifestyle changes. Previous studies showed that lifestyle modification interventions (diet and exercise) may be successful in reducing GWG in high-risk women but their effects on the incidence of GDM and other adverse perinatal outcomes have been limited. The research question for the future full randomized trial is whether an optimizing healthy GWG programme focusing on lifestyle (diet and physical activity) feasible to decrease the risk of GDM in a developing country. Thus, this study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a web/smartphone-based lifestyle program in optimizing gestational weight gain (GWG) to prevent the incidence of GDM.
The investigators' hypothesis is that maternal treatment with Letermovir will inhibit fetal CMV replication better than Valaciclovir in infected fetuses and lead to a higher proportion of negative CMV PCR at birth in cord blood. The main objective is to demonstrate that Letermovir administered to women carrying a CMV infected fetus following a maternal infection of the first trimester increases the proportion of neonates with a negative CMV PCR in neonatal blood collected in the first day of life or in cord blood in case of termination of pregnancy (TOP) compared to Valaciclovir. In each group , the proportion of asymptomatic neonates and the number and type of long-term sequelae at 2 years will also be assessed and compared.
Pelvic girdle pain (PGP), which is a common musculoskeletal problem of pregnancy, and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), which is diagnosed at the end of the second trimester and at the beginning of the third trimester, occur in a parallel time period. The addition of hyperglycemia to the physiological changes in pregnancy stimulates a new series of cycles and contributes to inflammation, and it is predicted that the presence of GDM may trigger the pain intensity of PGP. Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate the effect of GDM on PGP symptom severity (pain).
It has not been objectively clarified how the thoracolumbar fascia (TLF) changes the biomechanical adaptations that occur in the lumbopelvic region during pregnancy and whether it is associated with pelvic girdle pain (PGP). Therefore, the aim of this study is to determine the biomechanical and viscoelastic properties of TLF, which adapts to the changes in the lumbopelvic region in pregnant women with pelvic girdle pain, and to investigate its relationship with PGP.
