Filter by:The International Post-Stroke Epilepsy Research Repository (IPSERR): The study aims to collate and categorize data reported by post-stroke epilepsy (PSE) researchers and lodge it within the IPSERR. Using the IPSERR database, we will conduct two individual patient data (IPD) analyses: (1) determine epilepsy, functional, and cognitive outcomes in stroke patients who develop post-stroke seizure and (2) build and validate post-stroke epilepsy prediction model and compare performance against existing models.
According to the random number table, all patients were divided into short-term treatment group, long-term treatment group and non-intervention stroke control group according to the proportion of (1:1:1) epilepsy disease modifier idebenone. Patients in the short-term treatment group will take idebenone for a total course of 14 days (acute period) after stroke, and patients in the long-term treatment group will take idebenone for a total course of 3 months after stroke.
The goal of this observational study is to learn about epilepsy after a stroke (post-stroke epilepsy). The main questions it aims to answer are: - What make some patients develop epilepsy after a stroke? - Does sleep have an impact on the development of post-stroke epilepsy? Participants will undergo: - Electroencephalography (EEG) - Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) - Polysomnography (only patients) Blood tests will also be taken. The patient group will be compared to the healthy controls. Researchers will also look into medical records of stroke patients hospitalized at St. Olavs hospital and collect relevant information.
Improve the effectiveness of treatment and prognosis in patients with cerebrovascular accident by early detection of the risk of developing epileptic seizures.
