Using an End-of-life Conversation Game to Engage Patients With Cancer in Advance Care Planning: Phase 2

Start date: June 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to explore feasibility, acceptability, and effectiveness of end-of-life conversation game "Hello" as a tool to help individuals with various solid cancer types (including: breast, gastro-intestinal, lung, melanoma, head and neck, and/or genito-urinary cancers) treated at Penn State Health clinics and their loved ones perform advance care planning (ACP). The main questions it aims to answer are: What modifications and/or adaptations are necessary to Hello for use in cancer populations? What impact does participation in Hello event have on health care usage (e.g., number of hospitalizations, ICU admissions, emergency department visits, etc.)? How feasible is it to randomize participants to play either Hello for Cancer or Table Topics? Participants will: - Complete pre-game questionnaires - Play either Hello or Table Topics game - Complete post-game questionnaires - Participate in a focus group - Complete a telephone follow up interview 1-4 months after their event This study is a continuation of NCT06028152.

Risk Factors of Postoperative Complications and Survival Rate in Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma Patients

Start date: January 1, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

By evaluating the nutritional status of patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) admitted to Jinling Hospital, collecting relevant clinical data. we aim to conduct correlation analysis with patient clinical information, such as survival time, hospitalization time, nutritional status, hematological indicators, etc., in order to reveal the prognostic factors for overall survival and postoperative complications of PDAC patients.

NCT ID: NCT06378580 Completed - Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials

The Prognostic Impact of Surufatinib for the Treatment of Advanced Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma

Start date: July 1, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a highly aggressive tumor with a poor prognosis, despite the emergence of chemotherapies, unmet medical needs and limited treatment options still exist for patients with metastatic PDAC (mPDAC). Surufatinib is a small-molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitor that targets vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGFR) 1, 2, 3, fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 (FGFR1), and colony stimulating factor 1 receptor (CSF-1R), and ex vivo experiments have demonstrated its effect on PC models. A retrospective analysis of patients with PDAC who underwent surufatinib at Zhejiang Cancer Hospital (Hangzhou,China) from July 2022 to July 2023.The database was extracted from the preoperative demographics, blood markers, and surgical pathology information of patients undergoing surufatinib in the investigators' hospital.

Irreversible Electroporation & Pembro Immunotherapy in Locally Advanced Pancreatic Cancer

Start date: April 10, 2024
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This study aims to determine the safety and tolerability of combining sequential therapy of Irreversible Electroporation (IRE) and Immunotherapy (IO) for patients with locally advanced unresectable pancreas cancer following first-line treatment with chemotherapy and ablative stereotactic magnetic resonance image-guided adaptive radiation therapy (A-SMART).

EUS-guided CDS vs ERCP as First Line in Malignant Distal Obstruction in Borderline Disease (CARPEDIEM-2 Trial)

Start date: May 1, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this clinical trial is to evaluate temporal delay (days) between biliary drainage (EUS-CDS vs ERCP as first line therapy) and chemotherapy start in patients with borderline distal malignant biliary obstruction.

Treatment of Irinotecan Hydrochloride Liposome Injection II in China: a Real World Study of Pancreatic Cancer Patients

MA-PC-RWS-011
Start date: April 19, 2024
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study is a multi-center observational study. The start time for data collection is May 1, 2024. Patients' baseline and treatment data will be collected under informed concent. The purpose of this case registry study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of irinotecan hydrochloride liposome injection II based therapy in Chinese patients with pancreatic cancer in the real world by collecting, understanding, and analyzing the etiology, clinical features, treatment pattern, treatment outcomes, and pharmacoeconomics changes in pancreatic cancer patients receiving this regimen.

NCT ID: NCT06371716 Terminated - Pancreatic Cancer Clinical Trials

Ex-vivo Ultrasound Guided Radiofrequency Ablation on Pancreatic Solid Lesions

Start date: September 12, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The study investigates the feasibility and the efficacy to treat pancreatic solid lesions as pancreatic adenocarcinomas (PDAC) and neuroendocrine tumors (NET) with ex-vivo radiofrequency ablation (RFA) under ultrasound (US) control. The study intent is to define the optimal radiofrequency ablation POWER of the system in terms of maximum sizes (diameters) of histological coagulative necrosis obtained at pathological samples. Results will be useful to define the optimal settings to ablate pancreatic solid lesions (PDAC and neuroendocrine tumours).

Plasma Metabolic Biomarkers for Multi-Cancer Diagnosis

Start date: March 29, 2024
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The aim of this observational study is to comprehensively analyze the metabolites in plasma samples from multi-cancer patients using advanced mass spectrometry detection technology, in conjunction with metabolomics approaches. The goal is to construct a plasma metabolite database for multi-cancer patients. Simultaneously, we will delve into the exploration and validation of a series of metabolic biomarkers for early multi-cancer diagnosis. The objective is to establish a safer, more convenient, and more sensitive early screening method, thereby providing a reliable scientific foundation and critical evidence for improving the early diagnostic process for individuals at high risk of multi-cancer.
