Filter by:This study will evaluate the use of Heated Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) for primary treatment of ovarian cancer at the time of surgical debulking, to assess if intravenous (IV) chemotherapy can be started within 42 days of HIPEC and cytoreduction. All patients will receive cytoreductive surgery followed by a one-time closed HIPEC with cisplatin at 41-43 degrees Celsius for 90 minutes in the operating room. This is followed by 6 cycles of intravenous carboplatin and paclitaxel on an outpatient basis.

Based on studies of "Inherited Susceptible Genes Among Epithelial Ovarian Cancer" (NCT03015376, clinicaltrials.gov) and "Cohort Study of Universal Screening for Lynch Syndrome in Chinese Patients of Endometrial Cancer" (NCT03291106, clinicaltrials.gov), we provide risk-reducing surgeries of salpingo-oophorectomy with/without hysterectomy for healthy carriers with mutation genes of hereditary ovarian cancer, which is defined ovarian cancer with relevant pathogenic mutations.
This study aims to determine survival outcomes (overall survival and progression-free survival) of primary ovarian malignancies in China and relevant risk factors in a prospective cohort study.
The purpose of the study is to investigate the combination VS-6063, carboplatin, and paclitaxel. in the treatment of patients with ovarian cancer. The study will evaluate whether this regimen is safe. The study will also evaluate whether the regimen can reduce the amount of cancerous cells in your body. If you agree, you will be treated with VS-6063 by mouth, as well as carboplatin and paclitaxel infusions. Carboplatin and paclitaxel are approved by the FDA for the treatment of ovarian cancer. VS-6063 is considered experimental because it is not approved by the FDA for the treatment of cancer.
ICON 9 will assess the efficacy, safety and tolerability of maintenance olaparib in combination with cediranib compared to maintenance olaparib alone following a response to platinum-based chemotherapy in women with relapsed platinum-sensitive ovarian, fallopian tube or peritoneal cancer. Prognostic and predictive factors will be studied from tumour and blood samples.
Ovarian cancer is the leading cause of gynecological cancer mortality, with no current screening method effective for early diagnosis, with 75% of advanced stage patients being detected. Not all patients are candidates for standard treatment, which is primary cytoreduction followed by adjuvant chemotherapy, due to the advanced process. A subgroup of patients will receive neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by interval surgery, which allows higher rates of optimal cytoreduction with low morbidity and mortality. Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) is a therapeutic option that is used in pathologies of peritoneal dissemination, whose morbidity and mortality has been reported in several series and is promising as a management option for ovarian cancer, so it is necessary to evaluate morbidity and mortality that conditions this modality of treatment as well as if it impacts on the quality of life of the patients to whom they are performed, which will allow offering our patients an option of additional treatment to the standard.
Based on an improved understanding of how the extent of successful cytoreduction is influenced both by inherent tumor biological characteristics as well as the aggressiveness of the surgical approach this project aims to better define the value of cytoreduction and to use the knowledge gained to develop more individualized therapy and follow-up. This will be achieved through a translational biomedical research approach. Due to the research group's traditions clinical phenotyping, biomarker identification, and clinical trials will be the focus.
The study is to investigate the efficacy and safety of apatinib in patients with advanced ovarian cancer,who has received second-line chemotherapy and failed.
TUMOSPEC is a national family study designed to measure the relative and absolute risk of cancer for carriers of deleterious mutations to these "new" breast cancer (BC) susceptibility genes. Index cases will be enrolled consecutively from patients attending an appointment at one of the Unicancer centres, with no other inclusion criteria, and offered a BRCA1/2 analysis as part of their care plan. A panel of 24 TUMOSPEC genes, chosen in advance by a steering committee, will be tested as the same time as the BRCA1/2 genes, at one of the usual BRCA1/2 analysis laboratories belonging to the same network and participating in the study. If a mutation is found, the index cases will be asked to invite their first and second degree family members and their cousins to take part in the study, regardless of whether they have cancer. Saliva samples will be then taken and used for a targeted analysis of the familial abnormality. Each participant will also complete an epidemiological questionnaire in order to gather information about his/her medical history and any exposure to various risk factors. All medical and genotype data will be centralised at the Genetic Epidemiology Research Platform (PIGE, INSERM). The cumulative mutation frequency for all genes is estimated at 10%. Penetrance will be analysed using methods designed to minimise selection bias. The expression spectrum of the mutations will also be described. For genes where the number of mutated families is too low, the data may be contributed to international consortia. The main project will be preceded by a two-year feasibility study, using the same inclusion criteria and logistic circuits. It is this pilot study to which the current funding application relates.
