NCT ID: NCT01554163 Completed - Clinical trials for Osteoarthritis of the Knee

Safety and Efficacy of Etoricoxib 30 mg Versus Celecoxib 200 mg in Korean Participants With Osteoarthritis

Start date: March 2012
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The main purpose of this study is to establish that etoricoxib 30 mg is safe and not inferior to celecoxib 200 mg in the treatment of the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis in Korean patients. Given that the efficacy of etoricoxib vs. placebo in the treatment of osteoarthritis has been established, and that prescription drugs, such as celecoxib, are available for the treatment of pain associated with osteoarthritis in Korea, it would be inappropriate to subject patients with a flare of osteoarthritic pain to the placebo treatment for 12 weeks, and thus the study is designed as an active-comparator study.

NCT ID: NCT01535001 Completed - Clinical trials for Osteoarthritis of the Knee

Structured Non-operative Treatment of Knee Osteoarthritis

Start date: February 2012
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to test whether an algorithm for systematic non-surgical treatment consisting of corrective insoles, neuromuscular training, weight loss, patient education and pharmacological treatment with paracetamol, non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and Pantoprazole provides further improvement in pain, function and quality of life than standard non-surgical treatment (information on the disease and how to treat it) in patients with knee osteoarthritis. The H1-hypothesis is that the treatment algorithm results in a greater increase in quality of life and functional capacity and greater reduction in pain than standard treatment at the primary endpoint, which is follow-up 12months after the start of the treatment. See statistical analysis plan available under "Links" for further description of the study.

NCT ID: NCT01511939 Completed - Clinical trials for Osteoarthritis of the Knee

Trial to See if Topical Pennsaid for Knee Pain Affects Coagulation Values in Patients Who Are Also Taking Anticoagulants

ATCCTCP-1
Start date: February 2012
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to see if using a topical nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug (Pennsaid) to treat osteoarthritis knee pain will affect coagulation values in patients who are also taking anticoagulant or antithrombotic medications.

NCT ID: NCT01510535 Completed - Clinical trials for Osteoarthritis of the Knee

Efficacy and Safety of LBSA0103 Versus Hyruan Plus Injection in Patients With Knee Osteoarthritis

Start date: December 2011
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to compare efficacy and safety of intra-articular LBSA0103 once versus intra-articular hyaluronic acid injections (Hyruan Plus Injection) once weekly for 3 weeks in the treatment of patients with osteoarthritis of the knee.

NCT ID: NCT01488175 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Osteoarthritis of the Knee

Clinical and Stereoradiological Comparison of the Results After Primary Cemented Total Knee Arthroplasty Inserted With or Without the Use of a Tourniquet

Start date: January 2012
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to investigate if the use of a tourniquet during insertion of a cemented primary total knee arthroplasty will influence clinical and radiological (measured with RSA X-ray technique) outcome.

NCT ID: NCT01487200 Completed - Clinical trials for Osteoarthritis of the Knee

Pharmacokinetic and Pharmacodynamic Study of FX006 in Patients With Osteoarthritis of the Knee

Start date: July 2012
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the safety, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of FX006 in patients with osteoarthritis of the knee.

NCT ID: NCT01487161 Completed - Clinical trials for Osteoarthritis of the Knee

Study of FX006 in Patients With Osteoarthritis of the Knee

Start date: June 2012
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the safety, efficacy and pharmacokinetics of FX006 in patients with osteoarthritis of the knee.

NCT ID: NCT01444365 Completed - Clinical trials for Osteoarthritis of the Knee

A Study of ABT-652 in Combination With a Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAID) in Adults With Osteoarthritis Pain of the Knee

Start date: October 2011
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

To evaluate the safety and efficacy of ABT-652 in combination with a Non-steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drug (NSAID) compared to NSAID alone in adults with osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee.

NCT ID: NCT01430559 Completed - Clinical trials for Osteoarthritis of the Knee

Effect Of Meloxicam Versus Placebo In Mainland Chinese Patients With Osteoarthritis Of The Knee

Start date: October 24, 2011
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study is to validate the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC) tool in mainland Chinese patients with osteoarthritis of the knee . This study will also evaluate the effects of Mobic versus placebo on reducing the symptoms of osteoarthritis in this population.

NCT ID: NCT01410409 Completed - Clinical trials for Osteoarthritis of the Knee

Structured Treatment of Osteoarthritis of the Knee With or Without Total Knee Replacement

MEDIC
Start date: September 2011
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to test whether surgical insertion of total knee replacement provides further improvement in quality of life, pain and function in addition to an algorithm for systematic non-surgical treatment consisting of corrective insoles, neuromuscular training, weight loss, patient education and pharmacological treatment with paracetamol, NSAIDs and Pantoprazol in patients with knee OA, collectively called the MEDIC-treatment(Medicine Exercise Diet Insoles Cognitive). The H1-hypothesis is that surgery with insertion of TKR in addition to the MEDIC-treatment results in a greater increase in quality of life and functional capacity and greater reduction in pain than the MEDIC- treatment alone at the primary endpoint, which is follow-up 12months after the start of the treatment. See statistical analysis plan available under "Links" for further description of the study.
