View clinical trials related to Nutritional Status.
Filter by:A cross-sectional study representative of the Polish population of children aged 5 months to 6 years conducted in the cross-sectional study model, the main objective of which is to assess the nutritional value of the diet of children aged from 5 months to 6 years with regard to the basic macronutrients: protein (P), fat (F), carbohydrates (C). The study will include: dietary interviews, which will include the Food Frequency Questionnaire questionnaire (FFQ) and a 3-day food diary, as well as anthropometric measurements. The study will involve 1,000 children who will be selected by a random draw based on government database. The survey will be conducted by trained field interviewers - training will be provided by a dietician and an anthropologist. The study also included validation of the FFQ questionnaire.
The aim of the study will be to determine the epidemiological and clinical features of COVID-19 cases, immunological and virological courses, interaction with nutritional status, and response to treatment for COVID-19 patients admitted to treatment centers in Ethiopia. Methods: This multi-site cohort enrolls, patients with confirmed COVID-19 infection admitted to treatment centers will be enrolled irrespective of their symptoms and followed up for 12 months. Baseline epidemiological, clinical, laboratory and imaging data will be collected from treatment records, interviews, physical measurements and biological samples. Endline data involves treatment and prognostic outcomes to be measured using different biomarkers and clinical parameters, The patients will be followed up in the selected treatment centers for COVID-19 infection. For all data collected both descriptive and multivariable analyses will be performed to isolated determinants of the treatment outcome and prognosis to generate relevant information for informed prevention and case management.
Background: To tackle the high burden of undernutrition, the government of Bangladesh has identified growth monitoring and promotion (GMP) as a priority activity in the National Nutrition Services operational plan. Till date, no evidence are available from Bangladeshi studies to identify the effectiveness of GMP in improving the nutritional status of Bangladeshi children under 2 years of age. During 2013-14, two Bangladeshi studies looking at implementation issues of GMP at Community Clinic level and assessing the quality of nutrition services at primary health care facilities. The studies identified that lack of coordination, inadequate training, supervision, and logistic supplies as challenges to GMP implementation. Currently, GMP, (primarily sick child GMP) is being implemented through community clinics, supported by non-governmental organizations (NGOs) or other programs funded by donors. Besides, GMP is also taking place in areas where there are no NGO or donor support activities. However, the quality of nutrition data related to GMP is believed to be unsatisfactory. Hence, it is important to assess the effectiveness of GMP on the growth of under 2-year-old children. Hypothesis: GMP services could improve the growth of children under 2 years of age by 20 percent in the intervention group compared to the control group Objectives:To examine the effectiveness of GMP in improving nutritional status of children under 2 years of age Methods: Study design: Quasi-experimental study using mixed methods Study duration: 24 months Study setting: The study will be conducted in six sub-districts of rural Bangladesh where GMP is operational at the community clinic level. However, those areas will be excluded if there is any ongoing community or household level intervention on nutrition counseling being implemented by an NGO. For smooth implementation of GMP, refresher training on nutrition to health service providers will be provided by the study team. Study participants: children under 2 years of age, mother's/caregiver's of children <2 and service providers. Intervention group: children under 2 years of age who are exposed to GMP services at community clinics where an NGO funded program is supporting GMP implementation Control group: children under 2 years of age, at community clinics where GMP is not operational
To evaluate the effectiveness of a group intervention in the nutritional profile, in the stress and in the quality of life of patients in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. Method: Randomized clinical trial using a semi-structured interview, sociodemographic and anthropometric data collection, with 164 participants divided into a control group and intervention group, the Food Frequency Questionnaire, the Lipp Adult Stress Symptom Inventory (ISSL) ) And the SF-12 Quality of Life Assessment Questionnaire. To verify the difference in nutritional profile, stress levels and quality of life between the groups, the chi-square test will be used for categorical variables and within each group the comparison between the moments will be through the MC Nemar test. In the quantitative variables the evaluation of the interaction between group and time will be through Variance Analysis using the design in Repeated Measures. Considering a significance level p <0.05. Expected Results: It is believed that psychological and nutritional intervention in patients participating in therapeutic groups helps them to elaborate questions regarding the difficulties of coping with the disease in the daily routine and to understand the importance of lifestyle care and healthy habits.
Objectives: 1. To determine the level of compliance with nutritional recommendations (dietary and nutritional supplements) following discharge from hospitalization; 2. To identify barriers for post-discharge adherence to professional nutritional recommendations; 3. To determine the impact of adherence (high vs. low) to the nutritional treatment guidelines on functional and health indicators. Working hypothesis: High adherence to nutritional care after hospitalization will be associated with better functional and health outcomes.
This study is a one-day international cross-sectional nutritional audit in one ward. The purpose of this study is to generate a risk and level of nutritional intervention profile for an individual unit/ward based on case-mix, structures and social environment.
