Nimotuzumab Concurrent With Chemoradiotherapy for Esophageal Cancer Patients

Elderly or malnourished patients diagnosed with locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) had poor prognosis. Radiotherpy was an important and effective treatment in treating ESCC. The present study is a one-arm trial that seeks to evaluate the efficacy in patients with unresectable ESCC. The study objectives include R0 resection rate, complete pathological response and treatment toxicity, etc. Nimotuzumab is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody against EGFR. Its efficacy and safety in patients with esophageal cancer have been confirmed by many studies. The current prospective phase II study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a combination regimen comprising chemotherapy with nimotuzumab with a dose of 800mg per week and S-1 and concurrent radiotherapy for patients who are elderly or malnourished.

Combination of Nimotuzumab and Radiotherapy for Recurrent Uterine Cervical Squamous Carcinoma

Patients with recurrent or metastatic uterine cervical squamous carcinoma have very poor prognosis. For eligible patients, radiotherapy remains the choice, which has the most effective impact on the survival periods. On the hand, anti-angiogenic therapy has been proved to be promising treatment for recurrent or advanced cervical carcinomas. This study aims to discover the objective response of combination therapy with nimotuzumab (an anti-epidermal growth factor receptor [EGFR] IgG1 humanized monoclonal antibody) and radiotherapy in recurrent or metastatic uterine cervical squamous carcinoma in a single-arm, open, phase 2 clinical trial. The primary endpoint is the objective response rate evaluated by imaging methods. The second endpoints are the progression-free survival and overall survival. The treatment toxicity is regarded as one the second endpoint.

Immunotherapy of Advanced Cancer Using a Combination Nimotuzumab and NK Cells

NK cells can persist and expand in vivo following adoptive transfer and may have a role in the treatment of late stage malignancies. NK also express an activating Fc receptor that mediates antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) and production of immune modulatory cytokines in response to antibody-coated targets. Nimotuzumab, an monoclonal antibody against EGFR (epidermal growth factor receptor), may enhance the ADCC effect of NK cell. This study will evaluate the safety of combination of nimotuzumab and NK Cell in treating advanced cancer patients. Blood samples will also be collected for research purposes.
