This study proposes a safe dosing regimen IFN-γ that is sufficient to stimulate IFN-γ receptors on malignant blasts in patients who developed relapsed acute myeloid leukemia (AML) or myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) after alloSCT with no active or history of III-IV acute graft-versus-host disease (GVHD). It is hypothesized that IFN-γ will promote graft-vs-leukemia (GVL) in patients with AML/MDS that has relapsed after alloSCT.

The goal of this project is to conduct a pilot randomized clinical trial (RCT) to evaluate the feasibility of a brief, behavioral intervention to improve recovery following hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). Cancer patients who were treated with HSCT will learn behavioral techniques to improve sleep and increase daytime activity with the goal of alleviating insomnia, fatigue, and depression. If the intervention demonstrates evidence of feasibility and acceptability, a future study will test the effects in a larger trial, with the long-term goal of improving the care and quality of life of cancer survivors recovering from HSCT.
The main goal of this study is to evaluate the anti-relapse prophylactic activity of inoculating Natural Killer (NK) cells as consolidation therapy of acute myeloid leukemia in paediatric patients with cytologic remission. The patients included have intermediate risk of relapse and no indication for allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. After the standard induction and consolidation chemotherapy treatment, patients will receive five days of fludarabine to try to kill any minimal residual disease and prevent NK cell rejection. Two different NK cells infusions will be performed within one week (day 0 and 7). Interleukin 2 (IL-2) will be administrated to increase the cytotoxic activity of NK cells.

The aim of this study is to test the hypothesis, that the order of application of Busulfan (BU) and Cyclophosphamide (CY) has an impact on toxicity after allogeneic Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) and that CY-BU reduces liver toxicity compared to BU-CY.
This phase II trial studies reduced-intensity conditioning before donor stem cell transplant in treating patients with high-risk hematologic malignancies. Giving low-doses of chemotherapy and total-body irradiation before a donor stem cell transplant helps stop the growth of cancer cells. It may also stop the patient's immune system from rejecting the donor's stem cells. The donated stem cells may replace the patient's immune cells and help destroy any remaining cancer cells (graft-versus-tumor effect). Giving an infusion of the donor's T cells (donor lymphocyte infusion) before the transplant may help increase this effect.
This study of AMG 900 will be conducted in two parts: dose escalation and dose expansion. The dose escalation part of the study is aimed at evaluating the safety, tolerability and PK (pharmacokinetics) of oral AMG 900 in subjects with acute myeloid leukemia. Up to 93 subjects may be enrolled in dose escalation. The dose expansion part of the study will consist of 20 subjects with acute myeloid leukemia. The dose of AMG 900 will be dependent upon data from the dose escalation part of the study.
The purpose of this study is to show that a therapeutic platelet transfusion strategy (i.e. platelet transfusion only in case of bleeding) needs minimally a quarter less of transfusions compared to the standard prophylactic transfusion strategy (i.e. platelet transfusion without any sign of bleeding when the platelet count is below 10.000/µL). With the experimental transfusion strategy transfusions could be safely reduced when the study hypothesis can be proven. This is the first prospective randomized study on this topic.
