NCT ID: NCT00506402 Completed - Clinical trials for Hematological Malignancies

A Phase 1 Study of MKC-1 in Patients With Refractory Hematologic Malignancies

Start date: November 2006
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The main objectives of this study are to evaluate the side effects of MKC-1 and to determine a safe dose of MKC-1 for future studies in patients with hematological malignancies

NCT ID: NCT00434239 Active, not recruiting - Myelodysplasia Clinical Trials

Lenalidomide and Recombinant Human Stem Cell Factor for Treatment of Myelodysplasia

Start date: February 2007
Phase: Phase 0
Study type: Interventional

This study is mainly assessing the safety of Revlimid in combination with Ancestim (recombinant human stem cell factor) in patients with symptomatic myelodysplasia. Of those two compounds, Revlimid has been shown to be an active drug in myelodysplasia. Clinical responses will also be assessed.

NCT ID: NCT00354120 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Myeloid Leukemia

Thymoglobuline Versus Alemtuzumab in Patients Undergoing Allogeneic Transplant

GLOBAL
Start date: March 2005
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to compare Reduced Intensity Conditioning protocols containing either Thymoglobuline or Alemtuzumab in patients undergoing allogeneic transplant from voluntary unrelated donors.

NCT ID: NCT00212407 Terminated - Lymphoma Clinical Trials

New York Blood Center National Cord Blood Program

Start date: February 1993
Phase: Early Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

Umbilical cord blood is used as a source of hematopoietic stem cells for bone marrow reconstitution in patients who would be potential candidates for a bone marrow transplant from an unrelated marrow donor. The outcome of transplantation is obtained to assess cord blood myeloid and platelet engraftment, transplant related mortality, overall survival, graft vs. host disease and, for patients with leukemia, lymphoma or myelodysplasia, relapse.

NCT ID: NCT00195533 Completed - Lymphoma Clinical Trials

Study Comparing Piperacillin-tazobactam Versus Piperacillin-tazobactam Plus Glycopeptide in Neutropenic Patients

Start date: July 2001
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Observational

The aim of this study is to compare the efficacy and tolerance of piperacillin-tazobactam versus piperacillin-tazobactam plus glycopeptide as initial empiric antibiotic treatment for fever in neutropenic patients. Study of consecutive cohorts(2). First the patients will be included in the monotherapy branch until completing the predicted number of cases. When this happens, the Coordinating Center will communicate it to the participant centers and from then the patients will be included in the combined therapy.

NCT ID: NCT00145626 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Acute Myeloid Leukemia

HLA-Nonidentical Stem Cell and Natural Killer Cell Transplantation for Children Less the Two Years of Age With Hematologic Malignancies

Start date: May 2004
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

Recent studies of conventional chemotherapy for infants with high-risk hematologic malignancies show that the long-term disease-free survival is low. Although blood and marrow stem cell transplantation using an HLA identical sibling has improved the outcome for these children, less than 25% have this donor source available. Another option is haploidentical transplantation using a partially matched family member donor (i.e. parental donor). Although haploidentical transplantation has proven curative for some patients, this procedure has been hindered by significant complications, primarily regimen-related toxicity including infection and graft versus host disease (GVHD). Building on prior institutional trials, this study will provide patients a haploidentical graft depleted of T lymphocytes using the investigational device, CliniMACS selection system. One week after the transplant procedure, patients will also receive an infusion of additional donor derived white blood cells called Natural Killer (NK) cells in an effort to decrease risks for rejection of the graft, disease relapse, and regimen related toxicity. The primary objective of the study is to evaluate 1 year survival in infants with high risk hematologic malignancies who receive this study treatment.

NCT ID: NCT00136422 Completed - Clinical trials for Acute Myelogenous Leukemia

Study of Vaccination With Autologous Acute Myeloblastic Leukemia Cells in Patients With Advanced Myelodysplasia or Acute Myelogenous Leukemia

Start date: January 2000
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to test the safety of a new investigational acute myeloblastic leukemia (AML) vaccine and see what effects (good and bad) it has on patients with advanced myelodysplasia or acute myelogenous leukemia.

NCT ID: NCT00109538 Terminated - Clinical trials for Myelodysplastic Syndromes

Study of Lonafarnib Versus Placebo in Subjects With Either Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) or Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukemia (CMML) (Study P02978AM3)(TERMINATED)

Start date: May 2005
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to assess the benefit of lonafarnib (versus placebo) in patients with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) or chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML). Benefit will be measured by achievement of platelet transfusion independence for at least 8-consecutive weeks, and without simultaneous worsening of hemoglobin and/or need for red blood cell (RBC) transfusion. Additional endpoints will be hematologic response (which includes complete remission, partial remission, hematologic improvement), number of RBC transfusions, bleeding events, infections and safety.
