NCT ID: NCT04415138 Active, not recruiting - Surgery Clinical Trials

Evaluation of Robotic-assisted Mitral Surgery With the daVinci X Surgical System

Start date: March 10, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Robotic assistance allows performance of mitral valve operations with a truly minimally invasive and totally thoracoscopic approach, with significant advantages for patients compared to sternotomy-based surgery. Nonetheless, its diffusion has been limited by: 1) significant learning curve and technical requirements; 2) increased immediate financial costs due to dedicated equipment and materials. The aim of the present study is to perform a prospective data collection and evaluation of the in-hospital and follow-up clinical results of mitral valve repair using the last generation DaVinci X robotic platform. A cost-effectiveness analysis of this approach will be also conducted, under a global healthcare system perspective (including the overall patients' pathway starting from diagnosis of mitral valve disease until the completion of the 1st postoperative year). Since the 'competitor' surgical technique is not represented by sternotomy-based mitral surgery, but instead by minimally invasive, video-assisted mitral surgery, patients operated on using such technique will serve as controls.

NCT ID: NCT04408430 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Mitral Regurgitation

The MITRAL II Pivotal Trial (Mitral Implantation of TRAnscatheter vaLves).

MITRAL-II
Start date: March 8, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

A prospective multicenter study enrolling high surgical risk patients with severe mitral annular calcification (MAC) and symptomatic mitral valve dysfunction (severe stenosis, ≥ moderate to severe regurgitation, or mixed ≥ moderate stenosis and ≥ regurgitation). There are 2 Arms in this study: 1) "Transseptal (TS) Valve-in-MAC" (ViMAC) Arm, and 2) Natural History of Disease Registry (NHDR) for patients treated with medical treatment only (which includes patients who meet inclusion criteria but can't be treated with transeptal ViMAC due to the presence of anatomical exclusion criteria or other exclusion criteria) and have not had other procedures that may impact outcomes (i.e., alcohol septal ablation or radiofrequency ablation). The study also includes a Registry of Permanently Unassigned" for subjects who undergo preemptive septal ablation procedures (alcohol or radiofrequency) in anticipation of continuing onto ViMAC arm, but are not accepted in the ViMAC Study arm or the patient chooses not to undergo ViMAC procedure.

NCT ID: NCT04400513 Completed - Clinical trials for Aortic Valve Stenosis

Development of an Algorithm to Differentiate Heart Murmurs Using Electronic Stethoscopes

Start date: June 25, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The Eko CORE and DUO stethoscopes are FDA-approved electronic devices that have the capacity to record heart sounds. The study seeks to expand murmur detection to include VHD classification through the development of novel ML algorithms that are able to distinguish between systolic vs. diastolic vs. continuous murmurs, as well as classify VHD type and severity, using 4-point auscultation with Eko CORE and DUO electronic stethoscopes to record heart sounds.

NCT ID: NCT04382612 Terminated - Clinical trials for Mitral Regurgitation

Treatment of Mitral Regurgitation Using a Minimally Invasive Approach With the HARPOON Device.

ASCEND
Start date: October 2, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

To evaluate the long-term safety and performance of the HARPOON™ MVRS for use in patients presenting with severe degenerative mitral regurgitation due to posterior leaflet prolapse in the post-market phase.

NCT ID: NCT04375332 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Mitral Regurgitation

Beating Heart Mitral Valve Repair With the HARPOON™ System

RESTORE
Start date: December 16, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The objective of the study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the HARPOON™ System in the treatment of patients with severe degenerative mitral regurgitation (DMR).

NCT ID: NCT04351984 Completed - Clinical trials for Mitral Regurgitation

Transcatheter Mitral Valvuloplasty Pilot Study

MitraClip
Start date: October 20, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Transcatheter Mitral Valvuloplasty for Severe Mitral Regurgitation

NCT ID: NCT04299334 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Mitral Regurgitation

Neochordae Technique in Mitral Valve Repair

Start date: March 2, 2020
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

Mitral valve (MV) repair has turned into a preferable option for surgeons over the MV replacement. Since the 1960s, Surgeons use this technique for more efficiency and durability. On the other hand, the proper determination of length and placement of artificial neochordae is still a challenge beyond this technique. These challenges are still a vital area for research and debate between surgeons and researchers. In our novel technique,Investigators are not depending either on the preoperative investigations or intraoperative reference chordae in the adjustment of the optimal length of the neochordae, however, Researchers depend on the personal adjustment of the chordal length to the prolapsed scallop.

NCT ID: NCT04293575 Recruiting - Heart Failure Clinical Trials

Transcatheter Mitral Valve Repair as Bridge Therapy to Heart Transplantation

MitraBridge
Start date: June 1, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

The aim of this study is to report medium-term outcomes after the use of transcatheter mitral valve repair (TMVR) with MitraClip as a bridge therapy to heart transplantation (HTx) in patients with mitral regurgitation (MR) and end-stage heart failure (HF).

NCT ID: NCT04259411 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Mitral Regurgitation

MitraClip China PMS

Start date: December 6, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The MitraClip System is the first commercially available catheter-based option for the treatment of MR. The MitraClip System was developed as an alternate percutaneous technology which may serve as a viable therapeutic option for open-heart surgery. Treatment with the MitraClip device allows patients to undergo a less invasive procedure that can mechanistically reduce MR and allow for improved quality of life. The MitraClip procedure is performed under general anesthesia without the use of a heart-lung machine, with recovery typically lasting two to three days.
