Migraine recurrence is common amongst pediatric patients being discharged from the emergency department after treatment for migraine. Despite the commonality of migraine recurrence within the week following discharge, no known effective therapies are available in the pediatric population, though dexamethasone has been established as efficacious in the adult migraine population. The proposed study will randomly assign children and adolescents visiting the emergency department (ED) for migraine to receive either one dose of oral dexamethasone or oral placebo. Twenty patients will be recruited to this randomized, double-blind, pilot trial over a 6 month period, and the aim of the study will be to determine the feasibility and acceptability of the protocol.

The project studies auditory processing after brain damage (in temporal and/or frontal areas) and in migraine. The auditory processes investigated are attention, short-term memory, sound-induced emotions. To characterize auditory deficits after brain damage or in migraine, neuropsychological assessments are combined with neurophysiological markers (Electro-encephalography: EEG, Magneto-encephalography: MEG, Magnetic Resonance Imaging: MRI).
This is a study of participants with a diagnosis of migraine who completed another clinical trial NCT02163993. The participants received either LY2951742 or placebo. This study NCT02766517 will evaluate how certain biomarkers may be related to the participant's response in study NCT02163993. The study will last about five days.
