The Relationship Between Internet-use Behavior and Mental Health in Youth

Introduction: WHO defines youth as 15-24 years age group. At this stage, the brain is still under development, with high impulsiveness, being fond of stimulation and yearning for peer life. Compared with traditional interpersonal interaction, modern youths use the Internet as a main interpersonal interaction platform and conduct lots of leisure activities on the Internet. Poor cognitive emotion regulation strategies and personal traits may extend to new types of mental health issues; and are associated with depression, anxiety, suicidal/self-injurious behaviors, and cyberbullying. Objectives: (1) To investigate whether emotion regulation strategies while facing stressful events are highly related to with cyberbullying, social media, and internet gaming disorder. (2) To investigate the relation between cyberbullying and depression, anxiety, suicide/self-injury among Taiwanese youths. (3) To investigate the probability of cyberbullying, social media addiction, and internet gaming disorder occurring at the same time. Method: This cross-sectional study recruits cases of youths from 15 to 24 years old and collects data through questionnaires survey. In addition to collection of basic data, Internet using habits, and medical history, self-rated questionnaires include Suicide/Self-Injury Ideation Questionnaire, The Beck Depression Inventory 2nd Edition, Multidimensional Anxiety Scale for Children-Taiwan version, Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire, Cyberbullying Questionnaire, and Internet Gaming Disorder Scale-Short Form.

Implementing an Education- and Health System Task-shifting Approach for Child Mental Health Promotion in Uganda

This study will adapt a school version (mhGAP-IGs) of the World Health Organization´s (WHO) "Mental Health Gap Action Programme Intervention Guide" (mhGAP). Both teachers and health workers will receive training in mhGAP, and systems for collaboration between the school and health sector as well as other relevant stakeholders will be developed and integrated. The project is conducted in close collaboration with key stakeholders from the Ministry, the health and education sector, the police, and religious leaders. The aim is to increase mental health literacy among school staff, facilitate a healthy school environment, and increase detection of mental health needs among primary school aged children.

Internet-Based Self-Help Intervention for Social Anxiety Symptoms

This study is a randomized-controlled trial in which the assumed superiority of the module internet-based cognitive behavioral therapy intervention for social anxiety disorder is evaluated compared to a waitlist control group. Participants will be assigned to one of two groups, treatment which have web-based intervention (guided), and waitlist. The intervention program will be offered to treatment group participants (guided) through the website https://kendikendineyardim.org, the unique online self-help platform in Turkey. Participants in the web-based treatment group will receive feedback message within 24 hours after each completed module from the guides.

The question of the well-being, quality of life and mental health of care students is unanimously considered to be a central issue among young adults. According to the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, there will be 194,752 care students in France in 2021-2022. The quality of life and well-being of health students can be affected at several levels. The first is mental health. In France, the mental health of these students has deteriorated considerably in recent years. According to a 2017 survey of 21,768 French medical students, 66% of them had an anxiety disorder and 27% a depressive syndrome. In addition, a number of risk factors have been identified for the mental health of health students. The aim of the study is to carry out a longitudinal evaluation of the mental health status of care students during their university studies in France through anxiety, depression and perceived stress.

Teachers Leading the Front Lines - Adolescent

Purpose: The purpose of this research is to pilot test a novel, alternative, potentially sustainable system of teacher-delivered, task-shifted adolescent mental health care. Participants: Principals of 60 rural, low-cost private secondary schools of the Darjeeling Himalayas will be invited to participate as a school and an individual. Teachers will be approached individually. Two students per teacher who meet inclusion criteria will be randomly chosen for enrollment. Procedures: This is a RE-AIM (Reach, Effectiveness, Adoption, Implementation, Maintenance) guided, mixed methods CRCT, clustered at schools, of Tealeaf-A's Reach, Adoption & Implementation (Primary Outcomes, implementation-based), as well as evaluating for preliminary indicators of Effectiveness & Maintenance (Secondary Outcomes, clinically-based).

This study is a randomised clinical trial. This study evaluates the effect of an internet-based intervention developed based on a transdiagnostic cognitive behavioural approach on psychological symptoms of university students. There are internet-based guided intervention, internet-based unguided intervention and control group in the study. Experimental group participants (guided and unguided) will use the UNIPDES programme developed within the scope of the project. Participants in the guided internet-based experimental group will additionally receive weekly feedback from the guide .
