The Effect of the Motivational Interviewing Technique on Breast and Cervical Cancer Screenings

This study will be conducted to evaluate the effect of the motivational interviewing technique applied to menopausal women on their participation in breast and cervical cancer screenings. This is a randomized controlled intervention study in which the study sample will consist of 120 menopausal women, who visit the health care centers in the city of Kutahya. There will be one intervention group with a total of 60 participants and a control group with the same number of participants. The intervention group will have motivational interviews whereas the control group participants will follow the normal protocols.

Menopausal Vaginal Microbiome

In this study the investigators will analyze the vaginal microbiome of menopausal women in order to shed light on its potential implication on menopausal symptoms and quality of life. Moreover, the investigators will assess the effect of hormone replacement treatment on symptoms and overall quality of life during menopause and whether women under hormone replacement treatment have distinct vaginal microbiome profiles.

Day and Night Hot Flash During Menopause

We use Hot Flash Diaries to record the change of daily hot flush symptoms, The Hot Flash Related Daily Interference Scale to record how much did hot flush effect daily life, the Kupperman menopausal index to evaluate the severity of menopausal symptoms, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index to evaluate sleep disorder, wireless temperature monitor to record hot flush and body temperature during sleeping, and classify patients' traditional Chinese constitution by using Physical classification and judgment self-test table. With these evaluations, we can take apart of different syndromes with different symptom of menopause, thus to confirm the specificity and the severity of menopausal hot flush, and give patients correct treatment.

A New Hormone Replacement Paradigm: Physiologic Restoration Study

This is a three-year, prospective, observational study looking at the benefits of rhythmically dosed, bio-identical hormones compounded in a carrier cream in 100 symptomatic peri and postmenopausal women. This study will measure changes in cognition, mood, quality of life, endocrine health, bone mineral density, and reduction of the symptoms of menopause and any adverse effects. The objectives of this study are to show that rhythmic dosing of bio-identical hormones that mimic a menstrual cycle, are possible, and may be more beneficial and have fewer side effects than the current standard of care for treating the symptoms of menopause.

This observational study will assess the effects of a dietary supplement based on Humulus Lupulus L. to relieve the symptoms of menopause in perimenopausal and postmenopausal women, by doing a follow up of the Cervantes scale and the Anxiety and depression Goldberg Scale in a period of 6 months. Participants will be allocated to dietary supplement being the difference between groups if they are perimenopausal or postmenopausal, and will attend to 3 visits (baseline, 3 months and 6 months).
