Filter by:The main purpose of this study is to determine the safety of using the combination of decitabine and a cancer vaccine plus Hiltonol. The vaccine will be made from the subject's blood cells and is designed to interact in the subject's body with cells that are programmed to fight specific tumor proteins NY-ESO-1, Melanoma Antigen Gene-A1 (MAGE-A1) and Melanoma Antigen Gene-A3 (MAGE-A3). The decitabine will be given to increase the amount and activity of these cancer proteins on the surface of tumor cells to increase the possibility that the vaccine will stimulate cells to act against the tumor cells. Subjects will be assessed to determine how these tumors respond to the treatment.
This phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of expanded natural killer cells in treating younger patients with brain tumors that have come back or do not respond to treatment. Infusing a particular type of a patient's own white blood cells called natural killer cells that have been through a procedure to expand (increase) their numbers may work in treating patients with recurrent/refractory brain tumors.
This phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of palbociclib isethionate in treating younger patients with central nervous system tumors that have grown, come back, or not responded to treatment. Palbociclib isethionate may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.
The Register is based on the study HIT 2000 that recruited patients until 31.12.2011. All german patients with intracranial medulloblastoma, CNS-PNET, ependymoma can be included in the register. Object of the register is to maintain the quality of diagnostic standard by using of central review (Neuroradiology, Pathology, and cranio spinal fluid (CSF) cytology). Furthermore, the register should enable to continue the collection of epidemiologic data and biological material (tumor material, CSF, and blood) for associated studies.
Participants enrolling on this study will receive standard of care chemotherapy for Wnt positive medulloblastoma without the radiation therapy or the weekly chemotherapy that is given during radiation therapy.
This pilot clinical trial studies gallium Ga 68-edotreotide (68Ga-DOTATOC) positron emission tomography (PET)/computed tomography (CT) in finding brain tumors in younger patients. Diagnostic procedures, such as gallium Ga 68-edotreotide PET/CT imaging, may help find and diagnose brain tumors.
The purpose of this study is to test the feasibility (ability to be done) of experimental technologies to determine a tumor's molecular makeup. This technology includes a genomic report based on DNA exomes and RNA sequencing that will be used to discover new ways to understand cancers and potentially predict the best treatments for patients with cancer in the future.
This phase I/II trial studies the side effects and best dose of adavosertib and irinotecan hydrochloride in treating younger patients with solid tumors that have come back (relapsed) or that have not responded to standard therapy (refractory). Adavosertib and irinotecan hydrochloride may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.
The study PNET 5 MB has been designed for children with medulloblastoma of standard risk (according to the risk-group definitions which have been used so far; e.g. in PNET 4). With the advent of biological parameters for stratification into clinical medulloblastoma trials, the ß-catenin status will be the only criterion according to which study patients will be assigned to either treatment arm PNET 5 MB - LR or to PNET 5 MB - SR, respectively. The initial diagnostic assessments (imaging, staging, histology, and tumor biology) required for study entry are the same for both treatment arms. With the amendment for version 12 of the protocol, patients who have a WNT-activated medulloblastoma with clinically high-risk features can be included in the PNET 5 MB WNT-HR study, and patients with a high-risk SHH medulloblastoma with TP53 mutation (both somatic or germline including mosaicism) can be included in the PNET5 MB SHH-TP53 study. Data on patients with pathogenic germline alteration or cancer predisposition syndrome, who cannot be included in any prospective trial due to unavailability or due to physician or family decision, can be documented within the observational PNET 5 MB registry.
A placebo controlled double blind crossover trial of metformin in 30 children treated with radiation for medulloblastoma - the most common malignant brain tumour. The investigators used tests of thinking and learning and brain imaging techniques to examine whether metformin can enhance cognition or promote brain repair following radiation-induced brain injury.
