The oncologic benefit of lateral neck dissection (LND) during index operation for sporadic medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) basing on basal calcitonin (bCT) levels has been questioned due to the potential post-operative complications. This study aims to evaluate desmoplastic reaction (DSR), as predictor of nodal metastases, for definition of surgical strategy. Data from pathological report of MTC after operations between 1997 and 2022 were collected. The primary endpoint of the study was evaluating the risk factors for nodal metastases. The secondary endpoints analyzed the correlations between DSR and nodal metastases and the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV) and negative predictive value (NPV) of DSR for nodal metastases.

Background: This study aimed to investigate the diagnostic value of thoracic computerized tomography (CT) which is a noninvasive method making the diagnosis of sarcoidosis. Material-Method: The data of 816 patients who received endobronchial ultrasonography (EBUS) for mediastinal lymph node sampling and were subjected to other methods were retrospectively analyzed. 192 patients (sarcoidosis: 62, non-sarcoidosis) were included in the study. The thoracic CT findings of the patients were compared in terms of mediastinal lymph node and pulmonary parenchymal involvement.
The observed indexes of the four cervical lymph node diseases were identified by informatics methods, and the differences in the diagnosis of the four diseases were evaluated, so as to improve the clinical diagnosis rate and provide a research basis for the ultrasonic evaluation of the surgical indications of cervical lymph node diseases in the future.
Objective: To analyze the survival of patients with a reduction in the number of resected LN in patients submitted to neoadjuvant and total excision of the mesorectum with rectal cancer. Expected results: Survival rate between patients Complete Pathologic Response with less than 12 LN and 12 or more LN. The role of small-volume lymph node disease (ITC and micro metastases) among patients with endometrial or cervical cancer submitted to sentinel node (SLN) procedure is not clearly defined. This study was designed to create a dataset of patients with lymph nodal disease. Data on type and volume of lymph nodal disease, therapeutic choices and oncological outcomes (DFS, OS, recurrence rate) will be collected and analyzed. This will allow to define the groups of patients who may need or for whom it can be avoided any adjuvant treatment on the basis of lymph node status.
Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) multimodal image including grey scale, blood flow doppler and elastography, can be used as non-invasive diagnosis and supplement the pathological result, which has important clinical application value. In this study, EBUS multimodal image database of 1000 inthoracic benign and malignant lymph nodes (LNs) will be constructed to train deep learning neural networks, which can automatically select representative images and diagnose LNs. Investigators will establish an artificial intelligence prediction model based on deep learning of intrathoracic LNs, and verify the model in other 300 LNs.
The aim of this study is to compare the performance of 22G-ProCore and 22G-Standard needle in diagnosis of mediastinal and hilar lymphadenopathy via EBUS-TBNA with the purpose to explore the optimal technique for obtaining diagnostic material.
