Although some important progresses were made in the field of the meridian research, no breakthroughs have been achieved. Besides,there are some problems in meridian researches. The majority of the existing studies involve lots of subjective assessments for meridian phenomena. In addition, few studies have investigated the site specificity between two specific meridians.Therefore, this study is designed to detect the microcirculatory characteristics of meridian phenomena by using an objective assessment tool and investigate the site specificity for the meridian-visceral association and surface-surface association between two specific meridians.

The Effect of Inhaled Nitric Oxide on Pulmonary Gas-exchange in COPD

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a lung disorder commonly caused by smoking, which makes breathing more difficult. When COPD patients exercise, they are not efficient breathers and this leads to serious breathing difficulties, which often causes these patients to stop exercise at low intensities. Even though patients with a mild form of COPD have relatively well preserved lung function, they still have inefficient breathing during exercise. The investigators think that these individuals have problems exchanging fresh gas (i.e., oxygen) into the blood stream because of poor lung blood vessel function. The investigators will test whether inhaled medications, specifically nitric oxide, can improve lung blood vessel function and decrease breathing difficulties during exercise. With this research, the investigators will understand more about breathing efficiency and lung blood vessel function in individuals with mild COPD, and find out whether improving lung blood vessel function helps COPD patients breathe easier and exercise longer. Understanding the reasons behind the feeling of difficult breathing may lead to more effective therapy and improved quality of life in COPD patients.

Prevalence of Respiratory Impairment During IBD

Patients will be recruited during a routine consultation with a physician in the hepato-gastroenterology department. At the end of the consultation, patients will have to complete the following questionnaire: "European Community Respiratory Health Survey" which allows the screening of patients at risk of chronic respiratory diseases (asthma, COPD, bronchiectasis, emphysema). In the event of a declaration of functional respiratory signs, a consultation with a pulmonologist will be systematically proposed. At the end of this consultation, if the doctor deems it necessary, further investigations will be proposed and/or regular follow-up organised. The main objective of this study is to estimate the prevalence of respiratory symptoms leading to a diagnosis of chronic respiratory disease in patients with inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) (Crohn's disease and UC). The main criterion for judgement will be the frequency of functional respiratory signs (wheezing, dyspnea, cough, sputum) reported by IBD patients through an adapted self-report questionnaire.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) has a significant impact on quality of life and is costly to the health care system. It has been demonstrated that a self-management program improves quality of life, but programs are not universally available and telehealth interventions can provide home-based support, but have mixed results. The aims of this study are to (1) assess the feasibility and acceptability of a 6 weeks' educational program related to self-management with remote monitoring for Lebanese COPD patients; (2) pre-test its impact on quality of life, emergency visits, and rate of rehospitalization, and (3) to make recommendations for a future randomized trial.

This study will be performed as multi-center prospective observational correlation study in ulsan university hospital and asan medical center. 36 participants will perform the exercise stress test with cycle, 6 minutes walking test and shuttle walking test. Investigators will analyze correlation 6 minutes walking test and shuttle walking test with exercise stress test.

Closed Loop Ventilation With High Tidal Volumes and Safe Transpulmonary Pressure in COPD (COPD-SAFE)

This study evaluates the safety and efficacy of high tidal volumes generated by "Adapted Support Ventilation (ASV) mode' in mechanically ventilated severe COPD patients. Every patient will be ventilated consecutively with ASV and Volume Control (VC) modes at 2 different levels of minute volume in 2 sets. ASV mode is expected to be safe measured by adequate inspiratory transpulmonary pressures and expected to be as effective as VC mode with lower intrinsic positive end expiratory pressure (iPEEP) levels.
