Filter by:Lateral epicondylitis is a common upper extremity disease that occurs with tenderness in the lateral epicondyle, the common attachment point of the wrist extensor muscles, and pain during resisted wrist extension. The main purpose of treating lateral epicondylitis is to reduce pain and increase functionality, but there is no accepted standard treatment method. The purpose of this study is to compare the effectiveness of kinesio tape and high intensity laser in the treatment of lateral epicondylitis.
Difficulty in feeding among late preterm infants is one of the most significant factors contributing to prolonged hospitalization and re-admissions. By providing support to the sucking and swallowing muscles early in their development, the maturation process can be expedited, allowing for the safe early discharge of preterm infants. This study aims to investigate the effects of the Kinesio taping technique on feeding muscles and assess feeding and swallowing function in late preterm infants using acoustic analysis of swallowing sounds.
The study was conducted to investigate the effects of different Kinesio taping directions on dynamic muscle endurance. This randomized, double-blind, crossover study was implemented on 27 healthy male subjects. Before the study, personal and demographic information of the volunteers were recorded and muscle strength was evaluated in the biceps curl position with 1 maximum repetition technique. One week after this first evaluation muscle endurance was evaluated by counting the accurate elbow flexions completed in biceps curl position with 80% weight of 1 maximum repetition recorded in the first evaluation. Following this second evaluation facilitation, inhibition, and placebo tapings were applied to all the 27 subjects who were randomly assigned into 3 groups sequentially with an interval of two days. The sequence of taping technique to be used for the groups were also randomly determined and applied to the M. Biceps Brachii and muscle endurance was evaluated with the same method half-hour after the tape was applied. All the evaluations were performed by the same evaluator who was blind to the taping technique.
To analyze the short-term effect of kinesiotaping in balance and gait on Parkinson's disease
The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of kinesiotape technique applied in different tensions on pain tolerance (PT) of healthy university students. 100 healthy and volunteer male individuals studying at Mugla Sitki Kocman University Faculty of Health Sciences will participate in the research. Study protocol was approved by the ethics committee of Mugla Sitki Kocman University. The study is designed as a randomized, controlled, double-blind study to be performed on 4 groups consisting of 25 individuals in each group (No tension(Placebo), and 50%, 75%, 100% tensions of Kinesiotape). Kinesiotape will be applied over lateral epicondyle of the dominant extremities with diamond shape technique by a KTAI®certified physiotherapist. PT's will be measured with J-Tech algometer before, immediately and 30 minutes after taping by a different physiotherapist who will be blind to taping tension.
