Filter by:Objective: To investigate the effects of core stability exercises (CSE) added to the standard exercises (SE) on patient-reported (PR) and performance-based (PB) outcomes in patients with total knee arthroplasty (TKA) followed with telerehabilitation (TR). Methods: The 42 patients who participated in the study were randomly divided into 2 groups [group 1: SE (n= 21), group 2: SE + CSE (n= 21)]. The first 8 weeks of the post-discharge follow-up were performed by videoconference-based TR under the supervision of a physiotherapist and the last 4 weeks by telephone-based TR. Functional level was assessed by Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC), pain intensity by Visual Analog Scale (VAS), affected knee range of motion (ROM) by Copenhagen Knee Range of Motion Scale (CKRS), quality of life by Short Form-12 (SF-12) and World Health Organization Quality of Life Scale Brief Version (WHOQOL-BREF), lower extremity muscle strength by 30-seconds Chair-Stand Test and locomotor performance by Stair Climb Test. Assessments were performed with TR preoperatively and at the first, second and third post-op months.
The primary aim of this study was to investigate the effects of progressive neck motor control exercises on craniocervical pain, posture, function and kinesiophobia in different types of temporomandibular dysfunction. The secondary aim of the study was to examine the differences between the effects of progressive neck motor control exercises on different types of temporomandibular dysfunction.
Optimal pain control with limited muscle weakness is paramount for a swift initiation of physical therapy and ambulation. Fascia iliaca compartment block (FIC) has been recommended since it offers the best pain control with low risk of motor block. Pericapsular nerve group block (PENG) with lateral femoral cutaneous block (LFCN) has been proposed as an effective alternative to FIB that offers similar pain control with a considerably lower risk of motor block. The aim of this study is to compare the afore mentioned blocks and determine which one yielded the least degree of quadriceps femoris muscle weakness and the better pain control (the lowest NRS score with least need for opioids).
MicroPort (MPO) is conducting this PMCF study to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of its EVOLUTION® Revision Tibial System and EVOLUTION® Revision STEMMED CS Femur with the EVOLUTION® MP CS Tibial Insert. This type of study is required by regulatory authorities for all devices that have been approved in Europe to evaluate the medium and long-term clinical evidence.
Cervical spine problems are associated with temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and related muscles. The aim of the present study was to investigate temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD) and pain in individuals with cervical disc herniation (CDH) according to the level of neck disability.
the investigators study aimed to evaluate temporomandibular joint involvement in rheumatoid arthritis patients and healthy individuals 142 participants were recruited in two groups: 72 patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), and 70 healthy controls. All participants were tested for seropositivity of rheumatoid factor and anticitrullinated protein antibodies. TMD diagnosis was determined according to the standardized and validated diagnostic criteria for TMD (DC/TMD): myalgia, arthralgia, articular disc, displacement, degenerative joint disease, and headache attributed to TMD. Bruxism, a probable sleep and/or awake bruxism diagnosis was determined based on self-report and several clinical findings.
The goal of this randomized clinical trial is to investigate the efficacy of Manual Therapy Based on the Fascial Distortion Model (FDM) by comparing it with Core Stabilization Training (CST) or Control in individuals with temporomandibular disorders. The main questions it aims to answer are: - Is the efficacy of the addition of FDM-based Manual Therapy to conventional therapy different from the addition of CST or control? - Is the efficacy of the addition of CST to conventional therapy different from the addition of FDM or control? All participants in the intervention groups will be given eight-week conventional therapy (Rocabado Exercises and Patient Education) in addition to FDM-based Manual Therapy or CST. Participants in the control group will not be given any therapy during the study. Pain intensity, TMD severity, head posture, function, and disability will be assessed.
The study aims to evaluate clinically and radiographically the effectiveness of arthrocentesis and injection of I-PRF with wearing ARS in comparison to arthrocentesis and ARS only.
The aim of that study is to compare between conventional prolotherapy and computed guided prolotherapy in treatment of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) internal derangement.
The investigators sought to compare the effectiveness of postoperative pain control between the standard intravenous multimodal analgesia procedure used in managing patients undergoing total knee surgery, who experience severe postoperative analgesia needs, and multimodal analgesia procedures that incorporate ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks (Fascia Iliaca Compartment Block or iPACK Block) during postoperative follow-up. The aim is to determine which procedure is more effective.
