NCT ID: NCT06211621 Completed - COVID-19 Pandemic Clinical Trials

Admission Pattern Among Children With Gastro-intestinal Infections Before and During the Covid-19 Pandemic

Start date: January 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational

During the Covid-19 pandemic, admission patterns for infections other than Covid-19 have changed dramatically among children worldwide. Particularly admissions due to respiratory infections and later invasive streptococcal infections have been well documented. However, few studies have compared rates af gastro-intestinal infections during the pandemic with the previous years. This study aims to compare the number and characteristics of children hospitalized with gastrointestinal infections before the COVID-19 pandemic, to the first strict lockdown in 2020 and to the second, less strict lockdown in 2021. A retrospective review of medical records will be performed, of patients aged 1 month to 5 years admitted with gastroenteritis at the pediatric department at Slagelse Hospital in Denmark over a period from 2017 to 2021.

NCT ID: NCT06063330 Completed - COVID-19 Clinical Trials

Clinical Trial to Evaluate the Safety of RQ-01 in SARS-CoV-2 Positive Subjects

Start date: September 27, 2023
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This is a first in human clinical study to evaluate the safety, pharmacokinetics (PK), and pharmacodynamics (PD) of RQ-01. Adult patients who have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 virus, have mild symptom(s) of COVID-19 disease, and who are at low risk for developing moderate or severe COVID-19 disease are welcome to participate. The main questions this study aims to answer are: 1. What is the safety profile of RQ-01? 2. What is the reduction in SARS-CoV-2 ribonucleic acid (RNA) shedding after administration of RQ-01? 3. How effective is RQ-01 versus placebo in reducing COVID-19 symptoms? After providing informed consent, subjects will be randomized to RQ-01 (high or low dose) or placebo and will be dosed for 3 consecutive days. Throughout the duration of the trial, subjects will participate in the following activities: perform rapid antigen and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests for COVID-19, answer questions about their medical history and medications, answer questions about their COVID-19 history and symptoms, conduct a physical exam, have their vitals measured, and have bloodwork done.

NCT ID: NCT05959928 Completed - COVID-19 Clinical Trials

Continuous Temperature Telemonitoring of Patients With COVID-19 and Other Infectious Diseases in Hospital at Home Using Viture

Viture
Start date: February 9, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The aim of this cohort study is to validate Viture®, a continuous temperature telemonitoring system, evaluating the level of agreement with a standard commercially available digital axillary thermometer. The study also aims to evaluate the safety and comfort of the system and to evaluate the impact that the introduction of Viture has on the health care practice of a HaH unit. Furthermore, the advantages of Viture compared to the standard method will be evaluated.

NCT ID: NCT05474118 Completed - Infectious Disease Clinical Trials

Real-life Use of Cefazolin for the Treatment of Meticillin-susceptible Staphylococcal Infective Endocarditis: Comparison to a Treatment Cohort With Penicillin M

CEFASTA
Start date: February 5, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Retrospective, regional, multicenter study (including the Annecy-Genevois Hospital Center, the Chambéry Métropole Savoie Hospital Center, and the Grenoble University Hospital Center), comparing a cohort of patients treated with Cefazolin with a cohort of patients treated with Penicillin M

NCT ID: NCT05413772 Completed - Infectious Disease Clinical Trials

Temocillin in ESBL-Enterobacteriaceae Infections

TMO2016
Start date: October 20, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Because of the increasing incidence of infections with multi-drug resistant enterobacteriaceae, we need alternative treatments to spare carbapenems. Temocillin could be an interesting option but its position is only defined for the curative treatment of urinary tract infections. We would like to explore others indications comparing two groups : one using temocillin empirically for treatment or prophylaxis and the second using it in second line whatever the indication is.

NCT ID: NCT05352997 Completed - Infectious Disease Clinical Trials

Beta-lactams Therapeutic Drug Monitoring in Critically Ill Patients

SPT BETALACT
Start date: January 1, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The population of these monocentric and retrospective study includes patients hospitalized in one of the critical care services of Nîmes' community hospital. The objective is to determine the key factors that lead to satisfactory beta-lactams serum concentrations in critically ill patients. Clinical and biological features, as well as risk scores are collected and recorded into an electronic Case Report Form. The primary outcome is to show the main characteristics related to adequate beta-lactams serum concentrations in critically ill inpatients. Secondary outcomes include the key factors related to inadequate beta-lactams serum concentrations in critically ill inpatients, Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM) impact in the achievement of target beta-lactams serum concentration and the correlation between Aminoglycosides and Beta-lactams serum concentrations. Do both antibiotics have similar elimination kinetics ?

NCT ID: NCT05244356 Completed - COVID-19 Clinical Trials

Health Communication to Influence COVID-19 Vaccination Intent and Message Propagation

CONVINCE
Start date: April 29, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a randomised controlled experiment in the form of a web based survey study which randomly exposes participants to different forms of public health messages, after which participants will be assessed on their intent to take up the COVID-19 vaccine, recommend the vaccine, and also willingness to propagate the exposed message.

NCT ID: NCT05229926 Completed - Infectious Disease Clinical Trials

Implementation of CareCube Negative Pressure Isolation Units

CareCube
Start date: March 27, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Pilot study to provide a descriptive analysis of the real-world feasibility of using a CareCube for COVID-19 patients in a high-volume tertiary care hospital.

NCT ID: NCT05063812 Completed - Covid19 Clinical Trials

Performance of a Remote Monitoring Program for Patients Diagnosed With COVID-19

RPM
Start date: September 21, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The GW Medical Faculty Associates recently launched a remote monitoring program for patients diagnosed with COVID-19. Patients are provided with a home pulse oximeter and thermometer. Participants complete daily surveys about their symptoms and vital signs and are escalated to receive phone calls and video visits if responses are abnormal. Investigators would like to complete a study of the program to understand: 1. Operational parameters of program performance, such as how many patients were enrolled and how many patients completed monitoring 2. Clinical course of patients, including their reported symptoms over time and clinical endpoints such as hospitalization or ICU admission 3. Patient satisfaction with program
