View clinical trials related to Incontinence.
Filter by:In the literature, studies about urinary symptoms after radical prostatectomy (RP) are generally focused on urinary incontinence (UI), and studies about sexual symptoms are focused on erectile dysfunction (ED). In the management of these symptoms, the effects of pharmacological agents (duloxetine/antimuscarinics and PDE5-I) and/or local approaches (pelvic floor muscle training-PFMT, vacuum erection devices) have been emphasized. In these studies, the results are contradictory and the level of evidence is low. The effects of aerobic and resistance exercise training on urinary, sexual and general health after RP have not been revealed from a holistic and multidisciplinary perspective. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the additional effects of aerobic and resistance exercise trainings to pelvic floor muscle training on urinary incontinence and erectile dysfunction after radical prostatectomy in a randomized controlled design. The study will include volunteers aged 40 years and older (Mini Mental test score of 24 and above for individuals aged 65 years and older) with symptoms of UI and/or ED after RP. The study is designed as a randomized controlled trial. Individuals who meet the inclusion criteria and agree to participate in the study will be randomly assigned to 2 separate groups. Subjects in the research group will receive patient education, PFMT, and aerobic and resistance exercise trainings; subjects in the control group will receive only patient education and PFMT. The study period is 12 weeks. Individuals will be evaluated at 2 separate time periods, at the beginning of the study and at the end of the 12th week.
The aim of this single-center prospective observational trial is to study the influence of physical and psychological factors on the intensity of pain syndrome after anorectal interventions and to determine the association between the physiological pain threshold before surgery and the level of pain syndrome after anorectal surgery. Participants undergoing surgical treatment for anorectal diseases will be asked to complete the questionnaires before and after surgery, all information will be collected to identify risk factors for severe pain syndrome after surgery. The pain threshold test will be conducted to determine the association with pain after surgery.
This study will be directed to determine the effectiveness of laser acupuncture(LA) and pelvic floor training (PFT) on stress urinary incontinence (SUI) in obese postmenopausal women. Forty obese postmenopausal women will be selected , suffering from mild to moderate stress urinary incontinence from mild to moderate stress urinary incontinence, their age ranges from 50-65 years old and the body mass index (BMI) ≥ 30 ≤ 40 Kg/m2. then separate randomly into two equivalent gatherings. The study group (A) will receive laser acupuncture therapy and pelvic floor training for 30 min every other day for 12 sessions (3 times per week). While the control group (B) maintaining their ordinary medical treatment. All participants will be assessed the pelvic floor muscles strength by using Modified oxford grading scale and perineometer before starting intervention and at the end of the 12th session.
This study is designed to evaluate men before radical prostatectomy for the incidence of Overactive Bladder (OAB), as well as urge urine incontinence (UUI) development after the surgery. Patients will be evaluated for signs of OAB and for signs of Bladder Outlet Obstruction (BOO). Afterwards they will be divided into four observational groups. Follow up period is designed to be 12 months.
