Filter by:Effect of perineurial dexamethasone and dexmedetomidine on erector spinal plane block duration for hip arthroplasty
This will be a prospective, single-center, double-blinded, randomized study designed to compare the efficacy of the intraarticular injection of a corticosteroid and the Conventional Radiofrequency (CRF) of the anterior sensory branches to the hip in controlling pain and improving function related to hip osteoarthritis.
Effect of PENG block and ESPB on pain management, and NLR and PLR following knee arthroplasty
This randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled trial seeks to evaluate the efficacy of the pericapsular nerve group block on postoperative rehabilitation.
1. The purpose of the research is to assess the efficacy of postoperative immersive virtual reality (iVR) compared to a standard multimodal pain regimen including opioids and a local block on acute postoperative pain management following hip arthroscopy 2. The primary research procedures are medical record review for demographic information, head-mounted immersive virtual reality experience in PACU, and pre-operative and post-operative surveys 3. The study will enroll adult patients of all ages undergoing elective hip arthroscopy procedures for any diagnosis
Longstanding hip and groin pain (LHGP) is a common and debilitating problem in young to middle aged individuals. These patients often get referred to orthopedic departments. Consensus statements on the management of these patients commonly recommend a physical therapist-led intervention as the first line intervention. However, the optimal content and delivery of this intervention is currently unknown. In this study we will compare the effectiveness of usual care (unstructured physical therapist-led intervention) to a semi-structured, progressive individualized physical therapist-led intervention on hip-related quality of life in people with longstanding hip and groin pain referred to an orthopedic department.
The primary goal of this study will be to determine if perioperative IV Tranexamic Acid (TXA) administration will reduce intra-operative bleeding and subsequently improve visual clarity during surgery and reduce operative traction time in patients undergoing hip arthroscopy. Additionally, this study aims to determine whether IV TXA injections will reduce post-operative pain and affect hip-specific patient-reported outcomes in patients undergoing hip arthroscopy.
To investigate how elderlies (+65 years old) everyday movements, general strength and dynamic balance are affected after an 8-12-week training period using the "SSA Elderly Performance system" or "Strong and Steady".
The purpose of this randomized, double blinded, prospective study is to compare the postoperative analgesia provided by the PENG block to that provided by the LPB for patients undergoing primary anterior approach THA.
The objective of this retrospective enrollment and prospective follow-up study is to confirm safety, performance, and clinical benefits of the Echo FX Stem with the RingLoc Bipolar Acetabular Cup and Femoral Head in hip hemiarthroplasty (implants and instrumentation) at a minimum of 10 years follow-up. All available retrospective data will be collected from each patient and a prospective aspect to the study will be necessary to reach the 10-year time point.
