Surgical Treatment of Hip Fractures Under Peripheral Regional Anesthesia

Start date: August 5, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The study investigates whether treatment of proximal femoral fractures is possible using a peripheral regional anesthesia technique.

NCT ID: NCT03977168 Enrolling by invitation - Pelvic Fracture Clinical Trials

A Prospective Study of Early Mechanical Stabilization and Bleeding in Disruption of the Pelvic Ring

EMS-BIND
Start date: May 17, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of earlier placement of Circumferential Pelvic Compression (CPC) on resuscitative measures required for life-threatening pelvic ring injuries and to guide the development of future efficacy trials of three advanced resuscitation techniques (surgical pelvic packing, angioembolization, REBOA).

NCT ID: NCT03975868 Completed - Clinical trials for Proximal Femoral Fracture

Risk Factors for Cut-out After Internal Fixation of Trochanteric Fractures in Elderly Subjects.

Start date: July 2009
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Proximal femoral fracture is associated with severe morbidity and mortality and high socioeconomic costs. The main mechanical complication of internal fixation in trochanteric fracture is lag-screw cut-out through the femoral head. Several factors are involved, but remain controversial. The aim of the present study was to determine risk factors for cut-out in internal fixation of extracapsular proximal femoral fracture.

NCT ID: NCT03959657 Completed - Hip Fractures Clinical Trials

Analysis of a Population in Extreme Age of Life With a Hip Fracture

Start date: April 24, 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Observational retrospective study of pacients over 95 years admitted in traumatology ward with a osteoporotic hip fracture

NCT ID: NCT03955458 Withdrawn - Hip Fractures Clinical Trials

EXPAREL Facia Iliaca Compartment Block for Intertrochanteric Hip Fracture

RESTORE
Start date: August 26, 2019
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This study evaluates the effect of EXPAREL on total opioid consumption through 72 hours following fascia iliaca compartment block (FICB) in subjects undergoing repair of intertrochanteric hip fracture.

NCT ID: NCT03944174 Not yet recruiting - Pelvic Fracture Clinical Trials

Single Trans-sacral Screw Versus Two Iliosacral Screws

Start date: June 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

1. To compare Single Trans-sacral screw fixation vs. two Ilio-Sacral screws fixation as regard time for starting weight bearing. 2. To compare between functional outcome using the Majeed Pelvic Score.

NCT ID: NCT03943329 Completed - Hip Fractures Clinical Trials

Trial of a Distal Targeting System for Cephalomedullary Nails as Part of Surgical Repair of Hip and Femoral Shaft Fractures

Start date: December 17, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study will be a prospective, case - control trial looking at the use of a previously FDA approved device made by Stryker, a distal targeting system that eases the distal targeting of screws in cephalomedullary nails in hip and femoral shaft fractures. Patients who consent to participate in the study will either be in the control or device arm of the study depending on their surgeon.

NCT ID: NCT03941353 Completed - Hip Fractures Clinical Trials

Care Pathways for Benchmarking on Fragile Hip Fractures Rapid Recovery

Start date: January 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The aim of this project is to build an international community of centers of excellence in the care for Fragile Hip Fracture Rapid Recovery patients. These centers of excellence will benchmark and share their expertise and experiences based on clinical and managerial data. In project is designed in five different phase: Phase 1: literature review: identifying relevant key interventions and indicators Phase 2: expert panel: expert panel for teams, management and policy makers Phase 3: data collection: collection managerial data through retrospective patient record analysis on clinical indicators Phase 4: statistical data analysis: data input, validation and statistical analysis Phase 5: feedback and knowledge sharing: feedback report with anonymous benchmarking and knowledge sharing of the results.

Evaluation of TXA Prior to Surgery in the Geriatric Hip Fracture Population

TAHFT
Start date: February 1, 2020
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The overall design of the study is a prospective, double-blinded, randomized study in the geriatric hip fracture population comparing those who receive intravenous tranexamic acid prior to incision to those who receive a placebo.

NCT ID: NCT03911180 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Intertrochanteric Fractures

Pertrochanteric Fracture Fixation In Elderly Adults Using Proximal Femoral Nail Anti-rotation (HERACLES) With a T-shaped Parallel Blade: A New Design

Heracles PFN
Start date: May 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a prospective case series of elderly adult patients sustaining pertrochanteric fractures who will be treated by a proximal femoral nail with a non-helical (straight) blade. This study seeks to observe and evaluate the outcomes, advantages and complication rates in using the HERACLES PFN with a non-helical (T-shaped parallel) blade.
