NCT ID: NCT06204211 Completed - High Myopia Clinical Trials

Genetic Research on High Myopic Individuals in Northern China

Start date: May 1, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

HM, which can dramatically cripple the eyesight of those affected, is a rampant ophthalmic disorder around the globe. It is in recent years that substantial studies covering the relationship between distinct variations and HM susceptibility sprang expeditiously. However, these studies have not yielded sufficiently credible and universally significant conclusions. Consequently, the study is conducted by including HM subjects residing in Northern China to explicitly illustrate this issue.

NCT ID: NCT04902170 Completed - High Myopia Clinical Trials

Long-shaft Vitrectomy Probe in Highly Myopic Eyes

Start date: July 22, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study aimed to compare the safety and efficacy of vitrectomy probe with different shaft lengths in vitreoretinal surgery of highly myopic patients. In this randomized controlled study, highly myopic patients who had axial length more than 26 mm and needed vitreoretinal surgery will be enrolled. The enrolled patients will be randomized into "30 mm shaft length group"(trial group) and "27mm shaft length group"(controlled group). We will compare the rate of wound leakage, hypotony, subconjunctival hemorrhage, probe bending, trocar removal, and endophthalmitis between the two groups. We would like to evaluate the efficacy and safety of the 30 mm shaft length vitrectomy probe.

NCT ID: NCT03451877 Completed - High Myopia Clinical Trials

TGFB1 And LAMA1 Gene Polymorphisms in High Myopia

Start date: December 1, 2012
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The investigators aimed to investigate TGFB1 and LAMA1 gene polymorphisms in children with high myopia in order to determine the genetic basis of large myopic shifts causing severe visual impairment and complications. Seventy-four children with high myopia (≥6 diopters [D]; study group) and 77 emmetropic children (±0.5D; control group) were included. Genetic and polymorphism analyses were performed in the Medical Genetics Laboratory using DNA purified from the patients' blood samples.

NCT ID: NCT03433547 Completed - Macular Holes Clinical Trials

Effects of Macular Buckle Versus Vitrectomy on Macular Hole and Macular Detachment in Highly Myopic Eyes

Start date: January 30, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Full-thickness macular Hole associated with macular detachment is a one of the maculopathies of high myopia. There is controversy in the primary treatment for this situation. This study will compare the effects of macular buckling versus vitrectomy in a cohort of highly myopic eyes with this situation.

NCT ID: NCT03294967 Completed - High Myopia Clinical Trials

Effect of Caffeine on Ocular Circulation in High Myopes

Start date: September 1, 2017
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

To investigate the effect of caffeine on ocular circulation by using Optical Coherence Tomography and Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography. This study will evaluate blood supply to the inner and outer retina after consumption of 200mg caffeine capsule, in particular its effect in high myopes.

NCT ID: NCT03266354 Completed - High Myopia Clinical Trials

Changes of the Corneal Endothelial Cell Count After Artisan Phakic Intraocular Lens Implantation

Start date: October 1, 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational

the investigator will evaluate the change in endothelial cell count in eyes implanted with the iris-claw phakic Artisan lens for treatment of moderate to high myopia using specular microscopy

NCT ID: NCT03202485 Completed - Astigmatism Clinical Trials

Comparison Between TICL and ICL+AK for High Myopic Astigmatism

Start date: March 3, 2014
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

To compare the outcomes of a toric Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) and a spherical Implantable Collamer Lens combined with astigmatic keratotomy (AK) in the correction of high myopic astigmatism.

NCT ID: NCT03174639 Completed - Retinal Detachment Clinical Trials

High Myopia Macular Hole and Retinal Detachment Treated With Double ILM Flaps

Start date: March 11, 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

From July 2015 to December 2015, clinical record of 8 consecutive cases of macular hole with retinal detachment in high myopia treated with combined inverted and free ILM flap insertion into the hole were retrospectively reviewed. The anatomical and function outcomes were assessed.

NCT ID: NCT03023800 Completed - High Myopia Clinical Trials

Effects of Macular Buckle Versus Vitrectomy on Macular Schisis and Macular Detachment in Highly Myopic Eyes

Start date: April 2015
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Macular schisis associated with macular detachment is a one of the complications of high myopia. There is controversy in the primary treatment for this situation. This study will compare the effects of macular buckling + gas injection versus vitrectomy + internal limiting membrane peeling + gas tamponade in a cohort of highly myopic eyes with macular retinal detachment associated with macular schisis.

NCT ID: NCT03021629 Completed - Clinical trials for Vitamin D Deficiency

Comparison of Vitamin D Status and Vitamin D Receptor Polymorphisms in Patients With High Myopia and Primary Open-angle Glaucoma

Start date: July 2013
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Vitamin D deficiency is known to be significantly associated with high myopia. This study investigated the vitamin D status in patients with high myopia and primary open-angle glaucoma, in order to understand the relationship between high myopia and the development of primary open-angle glaucoma.110 primary open-angle glaucoma patients, 110 high myopia patients and 110 age-matched people in the Han population were enrolled. Serum levels of 1a, 25-Dihydroxyvitamin D3 were measured by an enzyme-linked immuno-absorbent assay.Vitamin D receptor polymorphic analysis was studied by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism technique.
