Study of the Safety and Immune Response of an Investigational mRNA Vaccine for the Prevention of Respiratory Syncytial Virus and/or Human Metapneumovirus in Participants Aged 18 to 49 Years and 60 Years and Older

Start date: January 23, 2024
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and immunogenicity an investigational messenger ribonucleic acid (mRN)A vaccine for the prevention of lower respiratory tract disease (LRTD) caused by respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and/or human metapneumovirus (hMPV) in older adults. A single intramuscular (IM) injection of 3 to 4 different doses of the RSV/hMPV mRNA vaccine candidate formulated with 2 different lipid nanoparticles (LNP) will be administered to healthy participants aged 18 to 49 years and 60 years and older. Treatment: - RSV/hMPV mRNA / LNP 1 at 3-4 different doses or, - RSV/hMPV mRNA / LNP 2 at 3-4 difference doses or, - RSV mRNA / LNP 1 at 1 dose or, - hMPV mRNA / LNP 1 at 1 dose

A First-In-Human Study of TAK-004 in Healthy Adults

Start date: September 4, 2024
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This study is the first study with TAK-004 conducted in human beings. Participants will receive either TAK-004 or placebo. The main aim of this study is to learn how safe TAK-004 is in healthy adults and how well participants tolerate one or more doses of TAK-004. Other aims are to learn about the effects of TAK-004 on the heart rate and blood pressure and if TAK-004 creates an immune response (immunogenicity). Another aim is to learn how the body of healthy adults affects TAK-004 (pharmacokinetics). Participants will receive TAK-004 or placebo via injection just under the skin (subcutaneous injection or SC injection). Depending on the groups participants are assigned to, they will either receive just one dose of TAK-004 or placebo or multiple doses of TAK-004 or placebo while they are in the study. Blood and urine samples will be taken during the study.

NCT ID: NCT06231953 Recruiting - Healthy Volunteer Clinical Trials

A Prospective, Multi-center Clinical Study to Establish Multi-Cancer Early Detection Platform Through the Analysis of Whole Genome Sequencing of Circulating DNA in Cancer Patients and Healthy Volunteers

Start date: October 13, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This is a prospective, multi-center clinical study of Multi-Cancer Early Detection (MCED) testing in cancer patients and healthy volunteers. The purpose of this study is to establish MCED platform through the analysis of whole genome sequencing of circulating DNA. The study will enroll 4,000 subjects as defined by eligibility criteria at up to 10 clinical institutions in South Korea.

NCT ID: NCT06228586 Completed - Healthy Volunteers Clinical Trials

Study on a MenACYW Conjugate Vaccine Administered as a Single Dose in Participants Aged 12 Months and Older in Vietnam

Start date: January 18, 2024
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The MEQ00074 study is a Phase III, open-label, single-center study aimed at describing the immunogenicity and safety of a single dose of investigational quadrivalent Meningococcal Polysaccharide (serogroups A, C, W, and Y) Tetanus Toxoid Conjugate Vaccine (MenACYW conjugate vaccine) in participants aged 12 months and older in Vietnam. The primary objectives of the study are: - To describe the antibody responses to meningococcal serogroups A, C, W, and Y before and 30 days after the administration of a single dose of MenACYW conjugate vaccine - To describe the safety profile of a single dose of MenACYW conjugate vaccine The duration of each participant's participation will be approximately 30 to 44 days.

Clinical Evaluation of the Magnesium Absorption Kinetics in Human Plasma Upon Oral Intake of Magnesium-based Products

Start date: January 28, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to study the effect of four magnesium-based products on the magnesium concentration in plasma of volunteers upon oral intake. 40 healthy volunteers will be on a low magnesium diet for 1 week; then, after a 8-hour fasting, a blood sample will be taken from a digital puncture before (0 hours) and 1, 2, 4, 6 and 8 hours after the oral intake of one of the products. This 1-week procedure (1 week diet, fasting, oral intake of the product and sample collection) will be repeated for all 4 tested products, summing a total of 4 weeks (1 week per product). On the day of the sample collection, volunteers will be provided with a standardized low-magnesium breakfast (1:15 hours after oral intake), low-magnesium lunch (6:15 hours after oral intake) and water ad libitum. All the meal plans (products, quantities and hours of the meals) will be identical in all the periods of the study. Plasma will be obtained from blood samples by centrifugation and the magnesium concentration in plasma will be measured by ICP-MS (inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry).
