Filter by:This pilot clinical trial studies how well technology and health communication works in improving health outcomes in patients scheduled for mammography screening. The Mobile Mammography Screening Program provides a vital health service and it is important that all women scheduled for an appointment show-up to be screened. Technology and health communication may help decrease no-show rates among patients scheduled for mammography screening.
This trial studies how fiber and fish oil supplements affect the metabolism and activities of colon cells in healthy individuals. Diet is an important risk factor for colorectal cancer, and several dietary components important in colorectal cancer prevention are modified by gut microbial metabolism. Giving fiber and fish oil supplements may inhibit the growth of gut cells and ultimately reduce risk of colorectal cancer.
This trial studies the effects of a dietary intervention based on the Alternative Healthy Eating Index (AHEI) on inflammatory markers and breast density in healthy participants. The AHEI is a quantifiable measure of diet quality designed to target food and macronutrient sources that are associated with chronic disease risk. Adherence to the AHEI may be associated with a reduction in inflammatory biomarkers and sex steroid hormone levels compared to other dietary patterns/scores.
This phase III trial studies how well the Outsmart HPV intervention works in increasing HPV vaccine initiation and completion among young individuals who report having a history of same-sex partners, being sexually attracted to males, or identify as gay, bisexual, or queer (i.e., sexual minority males). The Outsmart HPV intervention, which is a population-targeted, individually-tailored mHealth intervention that includes vaccine reminders, may increase HPV vaccine initiation and completion among unvaccinated young sexual minority individuals.
Food effect part: To investigate the effect of food on the pharmacokinetics of RTA 402 and evaluate the safety of RTA 402 in Japanese healthy male adults, using the capsule formulations. Caucasian subject part: To investigate the pharmacokinetics of a single dose of RTA 402 administered in the fasted state and compare the pharmacokinetics with those observed in Japanese healthy male adults in the food effect part
This trial studies glucosamine and chondroitin in preventing inflammation. Glucosamine and chondroitin often used as a dietary supplement to promote joint health may have a preventive role in inflammation and cancer. This trial may help identify the bacteria that help process them in the gut.
This trial studies photoacoustic imaging of the breast in patients with breast cancer and healthy subjects. Dense breasts typically reduce the sensitivity of a mammography and also is associated with a higher risk of breast cancer. Photoacoustic tomography combines light and sound to provide more information about breast tissue.
This trial studies glucosamine and chondroitin in preventing inflammation in overweight patients. Chronic inflammation contributes to cancer formation, and biomarkers of inflammation have been associated with cancer risk. Glucosamine and chondroitin may prevent inflammation and this trial may help identify the bacteria that help process them in the gut.
The study will investigate the effect of rifampicin on the uptake and breakdown of ACT-246475 in healthy subjects
This trial studies nipple aspirate fluid in detecting breast cancer. Nipple aspirate fluid may better detect breast cancer earlier than current methods used for screening such as mammograms and breast examinations.
