Filter by:Monoclonal antibodies targeting calcitonin gene-related peptide (mAb-CGRP) have shown efficacy and effectiveness in the treatment of episodic and chronic migraine, however, not all patients respond to them. Preliminary data suggests that some patients who failed to one of them, may respond to a different anti-CGRP monoclonal antibody. Observational analytic study with a retrospective cohort design including patients treated with a second mAb-CGRP due to lack of response to the first one. The aim of this study is to provide Class II evidence about the effectiveness and tolerability of the mAb-CGRP switching in patients with migraine, treated in a real-world setting.
The aim of this study was to evaluate masticatory muscle electrical activity in post-pubertal females with forward head posture (FHP) and temporomandibular disorders (TMD) as well as in post-pubertal females with neutral head posture and with no temporomandibular disorders.
The goal of this observational analytic study with a cohort desing is to evaluate the epidemiology, risk factors and clinical phenotype of headache during Influenza infection. The study will be done in collaboration with the Healthcare Sentinel Network of Castile and Leon (Red Centinela Sanitaria de Castilla y León, RCSCYL) and the National Influenza Center of Valladolid (CNGV). First, the historical data of the VIGIRA network of the 2010-2022 flu seasons will be analyzed, assessing the epidemiology and risk factors of headache during Influenza infection; and second, a study with a case series design with prospective follow-up will be carried out for the incident cases of the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 Influenza seasons, evaluating the clinical phenotype and the duration of the headache.
Computer vision syndrome characterized as a complex of eye and vision problem related with activities which increase stress for close to vision. It includes a group of visual symptoms which occur from the extended viewing of the digital screen, when the demands of the task exceed the abilities of the viewer. Computer vision syndrome is an umbrella term that envelops many eye and environment-related problem that happen when the viewing need of the task increase the visual capability of the computer user which cause inefficacy to focus appropriately on computer images. Computer vision syndrome is also known as Digital Eye Strain.
Intravenous Magnesium Sulfate Vs Placebo to Treat Non -Traumatic Acute Headaches in the Emergency Department
The aim of this study is to compare central and peripheric sensitization in headache patients at Baseline (T0) and 1 month after (T1) a treatment with an anti-CGRP (Fremanezumab-Ajovy).
The aim of the study was to determine the effect of aromatherapy massage on the pain severity and quality of life in patients diagnosed with migraine in addition to medical treatment during an acute migraine attack. In addition to medical treatments, complementary and supportive therapies are commonly used to cope with pain during a migraine attack. In recent years, aromatherapy through massage has become more common to reduce the severity of pain, make the patient painless and improve the quality of life. Aromatherapy applications are the application of pain relief oil mixtures through massage. Lavender and peppermint essential oils are mostly used in aromatherapy applications to reduce pain. Therefore, a mixture of mint and lavender oil was used in the study.
Observational, prospective, descriptive, open study on response predictors and tolerability of Candesartan in patients >18 years with episodic or chronic migraine with prior failure of three or more preventive drugs. Patients will receive Candesartan the same manner and intensity if they were not enrolled in the study. Vital signs, clinical variables and adverse events will be monitored. Primary endpoint will be to determine demographic and clinical factors associated with a 50% reduction in the frequency of headache days per month between weeks 20 and 24 compared with baseline.
The analgesic effects of ultrasound-guided dry-needling therapy will be evaluated in the management of head and neck pain.
Headache is a common symptom, and patients often seek medical attention at emergency departments due to headaches. The aim of the CoHead Study is to find out if it is possible by measuring copeptin, a marker of stress in the blood, to find out which patients have simple headaches and which patients have dangerous headaches that are the symptom of an underlying disease and need further investigation and treatment. Copeptin is a marker for physical stress and has been tested in patients with stroke, heart attack and pneumonia. In all these illnesses, the patients with the most serious forms had the highest levels of copeptin, while the ones with only mild presentation or no affection at all had the lowest levels of copeptin. The investigators expect to show the same in patients with headaches.
