NCT ID: NCT01782183 Not yet recruiting - Fever Clinical Trials

Thermographic Characteristics of Sore Throat by Thermographic Camera

thermography
Start date: September 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Thermographic cameras are used to determine temperature and temperature differences. Attempts have been made to use the thermographic camera as a diagnostic tool in clinical practice. Thermographic cameras have been approved by the FDA in the diagnosis of breast cancer. The camera absorbs infrared radiation which is discharged from the tissue and than translates it to a digital data or a photograph. The camera does not radiate and direct contact with the patient is not needed. The safety is similar to a regular optic camera. No study on thermographic characteristics of inflammation of organs has been published. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate and document these characteristics of inflammation. The correlation between the thermographic imaging and the clinical diagnosis, using routine methods, will be analyzed. The differences of thermographic imaging between an inflamed organ of a subject to a non inflamed same organ of a normal control will also be analyzed. The management of the patient will be by standard practice and will not be influenced by the thermographic camera image and the study outcome.

NCT ID: NCT01279863 Not yet recruiting - Pneumonia Clinical Trials

VRI in Children With Acute Respiratory Symptoms.

VRI
Start date: February 2011
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The VRI technology provides a radiation free dynamic image of the lung, by using a combination of well-known technologies, i.e. acoustic sensors, and a proprietary algorithm. The aim of the study is to determine if the VRI examination may contribute to the diagnosis and follow up of pneumonia in children, and therefore reduce the number of chest radiographs and the exposure to ionizing radiation. Children referred by ED for chest x-ray,for the evaluation of pneumonia, will undergo VRI as well. The two modalities will be read independently and then the findings will be compared, in order to asses the potential role of the VRI to the management of pneumonia in children.

NCT ID: NCT01080950 Not yet recruiting - Sepsis Clinical Trials

Vitamin D Zinc Fever

Start date: March 2010
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

Zinc and vitamin d deficiency are associated with a state of inflammation/atherosclerosis. There are studies demonstrating an association between vitamin d deficiency and respiratory illnesses. Both zinc and vitamin d are associated with oxidative stress and inflammation.

NCT ID: NCT00938509 Not yet recruiting - Fever Clinical Trials

Ibuprofen Suppositories Administration in Infants and Children

Start date: July 2009
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The study will evaluate the efficacy of Ibuprofen administered as suppositories in the treatment of fever in infants and children. Ibuprofen as suppositories is not yet registered in Israel, although widely used in Europe.

NCT ID: NCT00503282 Not yet recruiting - Blood Pressure Clinical Trials

Urinary Catheter Exchange on Admission of Septic Elderly With Permanent Catheter Before Initiation of Antibiotics

Start date: October 2007
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

In the era of emerging antibiotics resistant microbiology, we look for better outcome in the treatment of infections in the elderly. We look for guidelines to manage an elderly who has a permanent urinary catheter, admitting to E.R. with Fever/Sepsis. We assume that exchanging the permanent urinary catheter prior to the Urine Culture sample as well as for initiating antibiotic treatment will improve the outcome of the patients. It could help the day-to-day fight for the proper antibiotics treatment to avoid resistance.
