Face Mask Habits and COVID-19 Among University Students in Cairo

The World Health Organization officially declared the pandemic caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) as a public health emergency. The virus can remain viable in aerosol form for approximately three hours before being inhaled. Face masks have become an essential component of the ensuing fight against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).Therefore, a multicenter cross-sectional study was conducted during the pandemic to investigate university students' face mask habits in Greater Cairo, Egypt.

Evaluation of Full Face Snorkel Masks (FFSMs)

Recently, multiple models of Full Face Snorkel Mask (FFSM) have entered the retail market. However, several fatalities have been reported to the non-profit agency Divers Alert Network (DAN) for snorkelers who were using FFSMs, and most of these fatality reports have unclear or unreported causes of death. This project is to determine the characteristics of the FFSMs when they are in use by snorkelers. Volunteers will be asked to snorkel in a water tank while breathing through several models of commercially available FFSM, one at at time.

Due to the continued use of the mask in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, an impact on people is observed in different areas. The objective of our study was to collect impact aspects related to the continued use of the mask that may affect the quality of life of the population. For this, an observational study has been carried out that includes an interview with aspects related to headaches, problems in the temporomandibular joint, headache impact and quality of life.
