NCT ID: NCT04803162 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Eosinophilic Esophagitis

The Role of HRM and Specific Biomarkers of Inflammation in the Diagnosis of Patients With Dysphagia and Suspected EoE

Start date: November 14, 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The aim of the project is to assess the correlation between the results of high-resolution oesophageal manometry and specific biomarkers of inflammation (eotaxin 3, major basic protein, IL-5, IL-13, TGF-beta1) with symptoms of dysphagia, endoscopic and histological features and the assessment of quality of life in patients with eosinophilic esophagitis. Research hypothesis: The results of high resolution esophageal manometry (HRM) and specific inflammatory biomarkers correlate with symptoms of dysphagia, endoscopic and histological features, and assessment of quality of life in patients with eosinophilic oesophagitis. HRM, along with the determination of specific inflammatory biomarkers present in the peripheral blood, may serve as a less invasive method of assessing the effectiveness of the treatment of eosinophilic oesophagitis in relation to the currently used endoscopic examinations.

A Study to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of CC-93538 in Adult and Adolescent Participants With Eosinophilic Esophagitis

Start date: February 22, 2021
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Study CC-93538-EE-001 is a Phase 3, multicenter, multinational, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled induction and maintenance study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of CC- 93538 in adult and adolescent participants with eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE). The study will incorporate a 24-week Induction Phase followed by a 24-week Maintenance Phase. Participants will be randomized at the beginning of the study into 3 treatment arms: - Placebo for Induction and Maintenance - CC-93538 360 mg Subcutaneous (SC) once weekly for Induction followed by 360 mg SC once every other week for Maintenance - CC-93538 360 mg SC once weekly for Induction and Maintenance

NCT ID: NCT04704752 Completed - Clinical trials for Eosinophilic Esophagitis

Swallowing Characteristics of Pediatric Patients With Eosinophilic Esophagitis

Start date: May 25, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE) can affect patients all age group and clinical symptoms of the disease varies depending on the patient's ages. Infants and toddlers with EoE generally have food refusal, vomiting and poor weight gain. Older school-aged children and adolescents may have abdominal and chest pain, difficulty in swallowing (dysphagia) especially in solid foods. In the meantime, many children especially infants and toddlers, are not perceptive of their dysphagia, because they have the ability to compensate. Such as, avoiding certain textures or increases liquid intake in the meal.To date, to our knowledge, there is no study in the literature has investigated complex swallowing behaviour (including all phases), oral-motor evaluation and/or swallowing safety. Thus, the present study purposed to investigate (a) descriptive and clinical swallowing characteristics of children with EoE (b) the relation between disease characteristic and swallowing function.

NCT ID: NCT04682639 Completed - Clinical trials for Eosinophilic Esophagitis

A Study to Assess the Safety and Efficacy of Oral Etrasimod in Adult Participants With Eosinophilic Esophagitis

VOYAGE
Start date: December 15, 2020
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine whether oral etrasimod is a safe and effective treatment for active eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) in adult participants.

NCT ID: NCT04673643 Completed - Reflux Esophagitis Clinical Trials

Transcutaneous Auricular Vagus Nerve Stimulation Treatment on Reflux Esophagitis

Start date: July 1, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Objective: To evaluate the effect of Transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation for the patients reflux esophagitis. Methods: We accrued 29 patients at Beijing TongRen Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medicine University of. All treatments were self-administered by the patients at home after training at the hospital. Patients completed questionnaires at baseline and after 4 weeks, 8 weeks, 12 weeks and 24 weeks. Endoscopy, reflux diagnostic questionnaire (RDQ), gastrointestinal symptom rating scale (GSRS), and SF-36 were performed to evaluate the therapeutic effects. A difference of P < 0.05 was considered statistically significant.

NCT ID: NCT04671446 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Eosinophilic Esophagitis

Identification of Autoantigens in EGPA and Severe Eosinophilic Asthma

IDEA
Start date: December 10, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

In this project the investigators will look for auto-antibodies to relevant proteins both in native form and importantly in post-translationally modified forms. Potential modified auto-antigens are eosinophil proteins (analogous to the cytoplasmic neutrophil proteins identified in vasculitides such as Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (formerly known as Wegener's granulomatosis) and alternatively structural proteins such as collagen V. As well as advancing the understanding of asthma pathology, identifying a serum auto-antibody that could then be used as a clinical blood test, analogous to anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (CCP) antibodies in rheumatoid arthritis, may revolutionise diagnosis of severe eosinophilic asthma and Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (EGPA). There is a considerable burden of undiagnosed severe eosinophilic asthma in part due to difficulties in definitive diagnosis and a diagnostic blood test would help diagnose these patients, allowing them to receive necessary treatment.

NCT ID: NCT04657848 Recruiting - Gastric Cancer Clinical Trials

Preliminary Efficacy Analysis of Cheng's Giraffe Reconstruction After Proximal Gastrectomy

Start date: June 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In the past years, the adenocarcinoma of the esophagogastric junction (AEG) has been increasing obviously in China. It may be caused by the reason of increased body weight, alcohol consumption, gastroesophageal reflux disease and premalignant. In western countries, the 5-year rate of advanced AEG was less than 30%, it was the same in China. There was significant difference in epidemiology, pathogenic mechanism, biological characteristics and prognosis between AEG and antrum tumors, so AEG was regarded as a kind of independent disease. Up till now, the scope of lymph node dissected, the selection of operation approach, the resection range and the digestive tract reconstruction for the treatment of AEG were in dispute, especially in the reconstruction of digestive tract after operation. The purpose of this study is to investigate the efficacy and safety of the proximal gastrectomy combined with Giraffe anastomosis for early adenocarcinoma of esophagogastric junction.

NCT ID: NCT04653324 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Eosinophilic Esophagitis
