Filter by:This is a randomized, double-blind, 2 parallel arms clinical trial. All patients will be PDE5I users/responders. After 1 month wash-out period, ED patients will be screened, in order to randomize 50 men with vasculogenic ED with primary objective to examine the efficacy of LiST using Aries2 device.
This study will be conducted into two parts 1) Screening of 400 cases of cirrhosis (Child A,child B and child c) for the prevalence and risk factors of erectile dysfunction in cirrhosis.2) The part 2 is RCT as follows where 70 cases in each arm will be taken wuth child A and child B cirrhosis for the effect of treatment on erectile dysfunction (Tadalafil vs Placebo). After getting informed consent. Clinical, anthropometric and biochemical assessment will be done by candidate, co-supervisors and supervisor. Screening and selection criteria by using various questionnaire like Karnofsky Performance Score (KPS) , IIEF Questionnaire , ADAMS Questionnaire, Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7 (GAD-7) questionnaire, Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9 for depression ; and SF-36 questionnaire). The informed consent will be obtained from the participants in the study. Patients-ED IIEF<25 will be included as per inclusion and exclusion criteria. This is a double-blind, sham-controlled randomized, 2 parallel arms, clinical trial with a 12-month recruitment period. All patients will be PDE5I users/responders. After 1 month wash-out period, ED patients will be screened, in order to randomize 70 men with vasculogenic ED.Patients will be randomized in 2 groups (35 subjects in each group) to receive shockwave treatments (12 sessions for all subjects, 5000 shockwaves at each session), twice a week (total of 6 weeks) either at energy level 7 or at sham-control , without treatment interval. The IIEF-ED domain will be evaluated at Visit 1 and, consequently, at baseline and all follow up visits together with the SEP diaries.
The study will assess a new biphasic release sildenafil formulation (N4S001), developed by N4 Pharma. The N4S001 tablet contains a total of 100 mg sildenafil. The N4S001 tablet is designed to provide a faster onset of release and a longer therapeutic window compared to currently marketed sildenafil products. This is a single centre, open-label, four-arm crossover study in up to 12 healthy male volunteers. The following treatments will be dosed: Assessment Visit 1: N4S001 tablet containing 100 mg sildenafil (fasted) Assessment Visit 2: N4S001 tablet containing 100 mg sildenafil (fed) Assessment Visit 3: Viagra film-coated tablet containing 50 mg sildenafil (fasted) Assessment Visit 4: Viagra film-coated tablet containing 50 mg sildenafil (fed) The immediate release layer of each N4S001 tablet will be radiolabelled to contain 4 MBq (megabecquerel) 99mTc at time of dose.
To prospectively compare erectile function at 12 months, utilizing the abbreviated International Index of Erectile Function-5 (IIEF-5) score, for men treated with an immediate repair versus a delayed repair.
Erectile dysfunction (ED) is common, and is defined as "persistent or regular inability to achieve or maintain penis erection for satisfactory intercourse". Approximately 3% to 71% of males have this problem as they age, and it is predicted that 320 million males worldwide will have ED by 2025. However, sex remains a topic that is too sensitive for most people to discuss openly. ED therapies include oral medication, vacuum erection devices, intracavernosal injection, testosterone supplementation, surgery, and psychological counseling. In addition, germanium (Ge), titanium (Ti), and π elements are noble metals that can be used to produce far-infrared radiation. There has been little application of these metals to the treatment of ED, but their use is worth investigating. Administered as health textiles, the application of these metals are expected to promote blood circulation, especially in the reproductive system, resulting in an improved sexual performance. Hence, the researcher aimed to investigate the safety and efficacy of Ge-Ti-π elements fiber textiles as an ED treatment, assessed by using the questionnaires related to the quality of sexual function.
purpose: The aim of this study is to compare the safety, efficacy and durability of different doses of BTX-A (50 and 100 unit) in the treatment of Vasculogenic Erectile Dysfunction after failure of other ICI therapy. Patients and Methods: This study will be conducted on 200 patients diagnosed as vascular erectile dysfunction by penile color Doppler not responding to medical and injection therapy presenting to Urology department and outpatient clinic at Benha University Hospital, Andrology, Sexology & STD's outpatient clinic, Kasr El Aini Hospitals, Cairo University.(multicentric study). A- Inclusion criteria: - Age between 40 to 70 years. - Vascular ED proved by penile duplex. - Unable to develop erections sufficient for intercourse. - A "No" response on Sexual encounter profile questions (SEP 2 & 3) - Failing to respond to first line and second line treatments for Erectile Dysfunction with surgery as the only remaining treatment option. B-Exclusion criteria: - Significant cardiovascular disease interfering with sexual activity - Any history of an unstable medical or psychiatric condition - Any presence of penile anatomical abnormalities (e.g. penile fibrosis) that would significantly impair erectile function. patients will be simply randomized into 3 equal groups, one control group and two treatment groups. Ethics committee approval and informed consent were obtained.
The patients with primary erectile dysfunction (IIEF-EF <26 points), will be randomly assigned to three shockwave treatment protocols: Protocol 1 six sessions, one per week; Protocol 2, six initial sessions, one per week, followed by monthly maintenance sessions (every 4 weeks) for five months; Protocol 3, six monthly sessions. The EHS and IIEF-EF scores will be compared as well as the possible adverse events from the therapy upon beginning and completing the treatment and at the 3-month and 6-month follow-ups. Self-esteem and quality of life will also be evaluated using the SEAR scale.
A study designed to evaluate vascular changes after radical laparoscopic prostatectomy using Doppler ultrasound and the impact of such changes on erectile function and quality of life of patients. The baseline study will be compared with the study one year after surgery.
Questionnaires are used within urology to objectify disease burden and symptom changes during therapy. Recent technological improvements, as the smartphone and tablet, create new fill-out possibilities. However, questionnaires are only validated on paper. In order to use questionnaires for multiple platforms, electronic validation is needed. The International Prostate Symptom Score has already been validated on the smartphone. The International Index of Erectile Function (normal version of 15 questions and short version of 5 questions) is widely used within urology, however electronic validation is required for usage on electronic platforms in the future.
