NCT ID: NCT06312085 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Endodontic Treatment

A Study to Assess the Clinical Success of Root Canal Treatment Using Novel Obturation Material.

Start date: March 2024
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this study is prospective, single-arm, non-randomized controlled trial to test the effectiveness, safety and performance of a novel dental obturation material. The main question sit answers is 1. To test the effectiveness of the Endofill device for root canal obturation up to 12-month follow-up period. 2. To test the performance of the Endofill device evaluated with periapical radiographs immediately on completion of procedure. The participants requiring root canal treatment will be treated with obturated using Endofill material and post-treatment follow-up vistis will be conducted for 1 year. This is a single-arm study with no comparison groups.

NCT ID: NCT05916859 Recruiting - Periapical Diseases Clinical Trials

Effectiveness of Photodynamic Therapy in the Disinfection of Root Canals in Patients With Apical Lesion

PDT
Start date: April 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The object of the present study is to compare the effectiveness of conventional endodontic treatment with that of endodontic treatment combined with Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) in patients with apical lesion. Clinical and radiographic examination of the patients will be used to evaluate the presence of apical lesion, size of the lesion, and PAI index. Microbiological examination (evaluation of UFC/ml) will be carried out to assess the disinfection of the root canals. The success rate of the treatment will also be assessed. Endodontic treatment will be carried out in accordance with habitual standards and practices. PDT will be applied with diode laser (660 nm, 100 mW) and methylene blue will be used as photosensitizer (PS). Patients of the Endodontics Service of Universidad San Sebastián (Santiago campus) will be recruited for the study.

NCT ID: NCT04862702 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Endodontic Treatment

Assessment of Postoperative Pain and Bacterial Load Reduction After Using TruNatomy and ProTaper Next Rotary Systems in Patients With Necrotic Mandibular Molars: A Randomized Clinical Trial

Start date: September 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study aims to assess the effect of rotary instrumentation using ProTaper Next rotary system versus TruNatomy rotary system on postoperative pain and the bacterial load reduction following single visit root canal treatment in necrotic mandibular molars.

NCT ID: NCT03488316 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Endodontic Treatment

Influence of Temporary Filling Material Composition on the Success Rate of Endodontic Treatments

Start date: May 1, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this study is through a randomized clinical trial, double blind, splitmouth, evaluate the success rate (contamination rate, periapical lesion relapse and the presence of exudate between the treatment's sessions) of endodontically treated teeth that required filling with temporary material. The composition of the temporary filling material (cement (Based on calcium hydroxide; and based on mineral trioxide aggregate) will be evaluated. Data will be collected, tabulated and submitted to statistical analysis.

NCT ID: NCT03217760 Completed - Clinical trials for Endodontic Treatment

Stress Factors Induced by Patient and Young Clinicien During Endodontic Treatment

STRESSENDO
Start date: March 28, 2017
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

The aim of this pilot study is to examine the patient's induced stress and the young dentist's induced stress, during endodontic treatment. This study is carried out using physiologic (cortisol measurement, arterial pressure and heart rate) and psychological data (VAS visual analog scale of stress, pain and discomfort, CORAH and HAD Scales) collected from patients of Brest University Dental Hospital at various stages of root canal treatment. The endodontic treatment is carried out under the usual standards and practices.

NCT ID: NCT01167985 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Irreversible Pulpitis

A Clinical Study: the Antibacterial Effect of Insoluble Antibacterial Nanoparticles (IABN) Incorporated in Dental Materials for Root Canal Treatment

IABN
Start date: July 2013
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The effect of Antibacterial Nanoparticles, Incorporated in root canal sealer material and in provisional restoration is going to be examined. Two different tests are planned: (1) clinical and radiological evaluation of root canal sealer.(2) An evaluation in the laboratory the efficacy of provisional restoration during root canal treatment. We assume, based on our previous laboratory studies that show antibacterial properties, that the incorporation of the nanoparticels will improve the treatment outcome.
