Filter by:The researchers gave midwifery students theoretical training on how to take heel blood on a newborn model. Students were asked to take heel blood on the model in the high-reality simulation environment and simulation room. The student's ability to take heel blood before and after taking heel blood in a high-reality simulation environment or on a newborn model in a simulation environment, satisfaction with learning, anxiety and self-efficacy levels were compared.
The goal of this waitlist control study is to evaluate the benefits of virtual reality teaching pedagogy to developing non-technical skills in nursing students. The main question[s] it aims to answer are: 1. What is the relationship between VR training programs and students' situation awareness skills development? 2. What is the relationship between VR training programs and students' communication skills development? 3. What is the relationship between VR training programs and students' satisfaction/self-confidence in learning? 4. What is the relationship between the sense of presence and satisfaction/ self-confidence in learning? 5. How does the student's learning experience after VR training programs? Participants will attend the Virtual Reality training program. Researchers will compare the use of high-fidelity simulation to see if the non-technical skills were developed.
This study delves into the utilization of concept mapping as a strategic tool within problem-based learning (PBL) to enhance students' problem-solving skills, metacognitive awareness, and self-directed learning abilities. Concept mapping, a visual representation of knowledge structures, is explored as a means to cultivate and refine students' problem-solving capabilities, preparing them for challenges in various domains.
This study aimed to investigate the differences in compassionate flow among nursing students both before and after an educational intervention.
This study was planned to determine nursing students' attitudes towards artificial intelligence and test anxiety levels after using ChatGPT and Google Bard in their education. The study will be carried out in accordance with the research feature of quasi-experimental, pretest-posttest, with 3rd and 4th year nursing students studying at Sinop University Faculty of Health Sciences in the 2023-2024 fall academic year. The research groups are named as follows; Experimental Group: The group that will receive ChatGPT and Google Bard training, Control Group: The group that will not receive ChatGPT and Google Bard training, in other words, the 3rd year students of the nursing department will be referred to as the control group, and the 4th year students will be the experimental group. Educational content; ChatGPT and Google Bard training for senior students of the Faculty of Health Sciences who volunteered to participate in the study was provided by Dr. Lecturer It will be given by member Yasemin Özyer Güvener. After the training is completed, students will be asked to use generative artificial intelligence for educational purposes. During the posttest implementation of the study (one week before the final exams), data collection tools will be applied again to students who continue to volunteer to participate in the research. The present study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of toy hygiene education given to mothers of hospitalized children on their knowledge and practices, as well as the cleanliness of toy surfaces.
Background:The process of constructing knowledge in the context of children's science education plays a significant role in fostering the development of early scientific literacy. Nevertheless, children sometimes struggle to comprehend scientific knowledge due to the presence of abstract notions. Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of augmented reality (AR) games as a teaching tool for enhancing children's understanding of optical science education. Methods: 36 healthy children between the ages of 6 and 8 years old were included in this study. Individuals were randomly divided into an intervention group (n=18) and a control group (n=18). Interventions, namely a 20-minute AR science education including three game lesson modules, while the control group was asked to learn 20-minute same knowledge with non-AR science learning app. POE (predict-observe-explain) test of 3 games including animal vision, color-light mixing and light refraction were conducted for all participants before and after the experiment. Also, intrinsic Motivation Inventory (IMI) test including interest-enjoyment (INT-ENJ), perceived competence (COMP), effort-importance (EFF-IMP), and tension-pressure (TEN-PRESS) were conducted for children after the experiment.
Workplace violence in hospitals and other health care settings is a troublesome issue and has severe consequences for the entire health care system. In recent years, workplace violence has made a great threat to nurse assistants. Therefore, violence prevention education is a part of medical personnel's job responsibility. However, a theory-based violence prevention education program for healthcare settings was limited. The aim of the study is to investigate the effects of experiential learning theory-based medical jujitsu training on perception on violence, attitude on violence, self-efficacy, and turnover intention among nurse assistants
The present study was conducted to determine the effects of online video-assisted breastfeeding education on breastfeeding self-efficacy in primiparous pregnant women.
Along with traditional education methods, it is important to try different methods in order to increase interest, attitude and motivation in the lesson in accordance with the requirements of the age. Our study aimed to examine nursing students' attitudes towards the course in line with the principle of attractiveness in education. The study was conducted between March 2023 and June. The population of the research consists of second year students of Sakarya University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing. In the study, randomization determined which of the branches would be the experimental and control group. The sample of the study consisted of all volunteer students. The experimental group was completed with n:60 and the control group with n:57 students. To ensure homogeneity in the study, care was taken to include different branches in the same class. For consistency between observers, it was conducted in a course conducted by the same instructor. Data collection was conducted online. Participants answered the questions of the introductory information form, Instructional Material Motivation Scale, Course Interest Scale, and Attitude Towards Learning Scale. The post-test was administered to the control group without any intervention. The experimental group was trained and monitored with 3D animation videos every week. The data were evaluated using the IBM SPSS Statistics 23 program.
