Filter by:Inhaled corticosteroids taken on a daily basis have been proven to be the most effective treatment for children with persistent asthma. However, many pediatricians still do not prescribe daily corticosteroids to their asthmatic patients; this can lead to poor health outcomes among asthmatic children. This study will evaluate an interactive medical education program that focuses on improving pediatricians' asthma management skills and on encouraging increased corticosteroid use among their patients with asthma.
To determine if practicing an aorto-saphenous vein anastomosis on a low-fidelity surgical simulator allows trainees to produce a higher quality anastomosis in a shorter period of time, than a group that only learns by watching a video.
The purpose of this study is to test whether multi-source feedback, including self-assessment and tailored coaching, improves resident communication skills and professionalism. We hypothesize that residents who are assigned to receive multi-source feedback, in addition to receiving standard feedback, will improve significantly more than residents receiving standard feedback alone, as measured by parent and nurse ratings of specific behaviors over time.
