Filter by:The purpose of this study is to improve the understanding of the treatment goals that a person with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) or the caregiver may be most interested in, based on the severity of the person's disease. Data will be collected by online survey when the participant accepts the study invitation ("RSVP questionnaire") and telephone interview on the functional burden and self-identified treatment goals from the perspective of people with DMD and their caregivers. Interviews will be analyzed to help identify things important to Duchenne families to measure in clinical trials and to inform the selection of key concepts of interest and development of future clinical outcome measures, including observer reported outcomes/patient reported outcomes. The study will be conducted in the United States and will enroll between 45 and 120 participants 11 years or older living with DMD as well as their caregivers. The time commitment for the online survey and the telephone interview is about one hour. It is anticipated that the entire study will be completed within one year.
Patients after ischemic stroke are at high risk of recurrent cardiovascular events and of developing post-stroke complications. There is a substantial gap between risk factor management in real life and that recommended by international guidelines. Stroke Card is a multifaceted comprehensive post-stroke disease management program to detect and treat complications and optimize secondary prevention. The investigators hypothesize that, compared to standard care, Stroke Card will lead to an at least 33.3% risk reduction in recurrent cardiovascular events and improve health-related quality-of-life.
Seattle Children's Hospital (SCH), in collaboration with several health plans and Washington State Department of Social and Health Services developed the Comprehensive Case Management (CCM) program with the goal to reduce costs of care for medically complex children cared for at SCH as well as improve their health status and the quality of care they receive. The CCM program aims to develop and facilitate a reliable and standardized process that empowers the child's primary care provider and provides him/her with the resources s/he needs to avoid unnecessary emergency department visits and admissions. Our study will include children who had a hospitalization or emergency department visit at Seattle Children's between 2009-2012 and, at that time, had multiple active chronic medical issues but had no specialty service at Seattle Children's to help their primary care providers manage them.
